recently I had to get a guy to come out and recharge my central air.

As it was saturday he charged me $150 to come out. Then $50 for the first lb of freon and I think $35 for ever other lb so it cost about $350 for 20mins of his time and some freon.

I found out a bottle of Freon is about $220 and I think 30lbs ish so he pays around $7 and chagres $50-30 to put it in.. and you can't buy it because of the ozone layer its regulated

another example I got quoted $6/$10k for installing a new 2.5tonne system without duct work so I ended up buying my own for $2k. then I ring around an no AC guy wants to help you install it if you buy it yourself!

I finally found someone and I watched how he installed it and its not too bad.. I could probably do 80% of it from memory. It took a day and a half

So if these guys are buying the systems for $2k and say another $1k in lines, materials.. they charge me $6k so they make $3k for a day and a halfs work installing it! not bad

Since porn is over I thought I might become a central air man
