Another neighbor bites the dust!

I was woken up by noise last night and noticed my neighbors moving out. I guess they have been doing this for a few nights, but never noticed a thing.
Sure sucks to lose their house as they have only been in it about 6 months. This is about 15 homes in our area where people are just walking away.

I would love to get my hands on some of the tropical's that are still living. They pretty much let everything die and haven't cared for the place since they moved in.

BillPMB, right?

Thats wild about the neighbors.. You could probably nab a few plants, especially if they're just going to die anyway.

I saw that in a thread and can't remember who posted it. It was a bit longer, but I did like it and decided to use it for a while.

I think they will be back as the grill and all the furniture is still there, including the swing set. I may offer them some cash for the sago palms they have out back. By looking at the size of those plants, they are easily worth 300 bucks each.

Funny you mention that. I believe the prior owner left some unusual stuff there. There is still an old antique glider the old man left with some of the old round back steel chairs. They have left them stacked in the corner of the yard for months and will probably not be taking them. Those are going to be mine ;)
I know there are some statues, I believe elfs. Will take a look later

It's weird the way people dissapear in the middle of the night. Are they afraid the mortgage company is going to shut them down for moving out in the daylight? Moving after dark just seems so dramatic.

I wonder if any of these people are trying to work out deals with the banks. or are the banks just that fucking stupid to keep fore closing on properties they can not maintain.

offer them a few bucks for anything you want landscape wise. it is what the wife and i have done at a few places where people were moving out due to a foreclosure. you will not get any landscape stuff from a private sale and maybe just some personal stuff which i would have no use for but the landscape stuff is worth it. they rarely care and planned on leaving it anyways. plus it seems like if given the chance for them to make a couple more dollars and screw the bank in the process they are all over it.

we got one of those brass fire pit things with the dome cover and brick sides. also got 8 redwood tree's that were about 10' each. 4-5 elephant ear plants, 4-5 large ferns, and a propane outdoor heater. was offered a spa/hottub as well as a pond from some people but had no room for either. the stuff i did get i know we paid less than 500 total for and honestly i think we offered them more than they would of taken.

I was thinking the same thing. Six months ago it was really rough, too. Surprised they bought.

I have wondered the same thing. I think part of the reason of leaving in the middle of the night is out of embarrassment and can't face the neighbors....who knows

Something must have gone wrong, but I think they were still working. I know they just got a new 4runner when the family van was traded in, so things must have not been that bad. I would much rather drive a clunker and have a home VS having a nice car and having no home....so to speak.
In the end, it's sad to see people loosing their homes, especially when they have small children.

Funny, Last Wednesday, I was walking the dog, and the city water guy pulled up, went to the next door neighbors and shut off the water. Since the neighbors were nice folks, I asked him how much he needed to leave it on. I figured they would pay me back if I covered them. Anyway, the guy said, oh, well they moved out. disconnected service.
The people were there the day before, no signs of moving at all then the next morning they were gone.
Yesterday, the neighbors across the street bugged out, They apparently didn't have money to hire a truck, as they were stacking stuff on top of their cars. A Sheriffs deputy came last night with a locksmith and they put lockboxs on it.
It is getting fucked up here. Our homeless mission is one of the best in the country, and they usually are well stocked and supplied, but now they are pleading for food, and other stuff as they are at 140% of their capacity.

I was thinking that after I posted, but personally, I wouldn't care. Most of my neighbors are old conservative yuppies who probably secretly wish I'd lose my house. I throw two big parties a year, halloween and christmas, and I'm known as "having all the wild parties".

The last time I moved it was late at night because I worked during the day and that was the only time I could do it.
