ie: some files are referenced at http: others https:

AK yes actually, assuming you mean primarily older posts? The relevant post thumbs at the bottom of each post are hardcoded, didn't want to just run a shell script so we are fixing them manually.

An easy fix is to put the site behind Cloudflare (free) and then force https rewrites. It will speed your site up too. Don't want to stick my nose in where it's not wanted but thought you should know in case you didn't already know

No worries, currently running a master/slave dns with both out out of central europe nl/frankfurt but i'n not that happy with the dns resolution speed. I'll check out cloudfare in more detail. Thanks!
