Mentor needed
I would love to learn everything I can about this business. I think I have finally washed away the mainstream attitude I brought with me and realize that for me to have any sort of success, I need to learn from those that know what they are doing. In typical newb fashion, I figure the transition from mainstream to adult would be simple. I have been humbled in my findings.
I would love to find someone who would be willing to take me under there wing and help me along with the way with being a good affiliate. I don't just want to send traffic aimlessly with the hope of a sale. I really want to be deliberate in my method and approach and want to understand how to maximize traffic and to be a service to my sponsors. For someone with a little web skills, what is the proper plan of attack? On average, how many new blogs should I create in a day and how many entries per blog? Should I keep my blogs centered around one sponsor or one site or would it be better to mix different sponsors on the same blog? Should I also diversify and create text based links to sponsor hosted pages like Tiava and use it to also feed in the tube site? I already have a mentor for shooting content and I am very grateful. But for me to be successful at everything, I need to understand the basics and build on that. So far, I love the business and the freedom and would very much like to make a career out of it. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated and accepted. |

It will be hard finding somebody like that. Generally, a lot of webmasters are good-willed and will answer most of your questions if you approach them. The trick is knowing who to listen to and who to ignore, and how to ask the right questions. I would suggest sticking around this and other forums and reading up as much as you can. There are good sites out there with plenty of info. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

2) Research their affiliate managers/representatives and find one that, for all intents and purposes, seems to know what they're doing. 3) Get in touch with them, sign up under their referral code, and ask them to assist you in your marketing efforts. I hope this helps ![]() |

Looks like a good second start. Read, read, read and ask questions as you come up with them. People are very helpful if you come to the table with a good attitude.
Good luck with your project! |

honestly in these days its a little more "cut throat" than it was about 2 years or so ago. I think a lot of webmasters are keeping secret what they know in fear someone will copy them, steal ideas and they loose out on money
best of luck tho

Not sure where you are located but you may have better luck first finding someone in your area that you can meet with in person so that you could get more accomplished than trying to do everything remote online.
Of course if you do find someone near you then you can always come back here to GFY for personal references or check out Xbiz.net to see if they are registered. Someone that appears to be as serious as you are should also register at Xbiz.net if you have not already done so and then you can post what you are looking for there too. One thing nice about that site is that they have only members that are in the adult industry along with people like yourself that are looking for opportunities. Hope this helps a little ![]() _

Being a good webmaster revolves around having good self learning skills... If you consider yourself a fast learner and are good at self-teaching then it's only a matter of time before you start experiencing success. The amount of time it takes can vary, but I'd say 2 years for the average person is a safe bet. From a quick scan of your site it seems like you're just getting started.
So you have four types of people: Those that aren't good at self-teaching and end up quitting Those that are good at self-teaching but don't tough it out long enough to see any real success Those that are good at self-teaching and do stick it out long enough to make their sites successful Those that aren't good at self-teaching but tough it out anyway even though their sites aren't successful and end up becomming GFY postwhores like a lot of the people you see on here. ![]() If you don't consider yourself a fast learning/self-teacher then school/normal job is probably the way to go for you. If you do consider yourself a fast learning/self-teacher then expect to spend 1-2 years day in and day out researching, experimenting, producing, and learning before seeing any real success.... after all - how long do people usually have to go to school before getting a good job? Don't expect to start making money overnight as a webmaster either. |
