Those of you that work from home, do you find that you are more or less likely to get sick since starting to work from home?

I think that I miss most big waves of illness that a lot of other people get from just being out and about everyday. However, if I do catch wind of something it really takes root with more vengeance than it would have in the past.

Thankfully the kids bring home enough viruses to keep me sick at least a couple times a year. If not for that I'd have no reason to get away from this blasted tool. (my computer)

I think my immune system has probably weakened a little since the last time I worked in a corporate office (or any job interacting regularly with other people) was in 1996. When my daughter started going to childcare a few years ago I caught everything she did. It's annoying getting sick so much but it's essential for her immune system to develop, and in the long run it's probably good for mine too.

I live with two roomates, one of which works in a kitchen :P Plus, we live in a condo with 11 units so we're kinda...close to eachother. So I unfortunately am almost as exposed as someone who works outside of the home.

Hence why my mother always referred to my classmates as "snot nosed children".

I never really took the time to think about my immune system weakening, maybe if i spent a day out i'd get every airbourne virus known to man

It probably does mean you get sick less yes. Plus in the summer when i get killed with damn hayfever every year, at least i don't have to head outdoors, although i still get affected though...

I think it doesn't make much of a difference. People usually still have go out shopping, the gym, meet friends etc.

I find those that get the least amount of exposure to illnesses are the most likely to catch or have a hard to shaking even something that others could have shacked early on. I am a firm believer that the more dirt we are around, especially as kids the healthier on average th child will grow up to be.

I work from home and am sick. Could be because my mom is here two days a week babysitting my nieces and kids. Sickness just gets passed from one kid to the next in one big never-ending cold.
