That pass was his fault, and could have been avoided totally, but what cost them the game was that too many men in the huddle penalty that put them out of fg range just before that...

Wouldn't say it cost them the game, a 50 yard FG is not a chip shot especially the way the FG kickers have been doing this year especially in the playoffs.

If not for that penalty, they would have ran the ball on 3rd down, likely got a yard or so, ran the clock down to 5 seconds and called their final time out and tried a 50 yarder.

The penalty took away their chance for a FG by running the ball on 3rd down. I don't think it matter that Farve threw the INT or if it would have been incomplete. Actually if it would have been incomplete there would have been about 14 seconds on the clock instead of 7. They would have been faced with a 4th and 15 from their own 38 yard line. I don't think they would have tried 55 yarder, you miss that you give the Saints the ball back at almost mid field with little time left. But who knows.....

yeah but even a 50 yard attempt at the end is still a chance at the win, they didn't even get that chance because of that dumb week 1 caliber mistake of too many men in the huddle.

It's not a tragedy though, NO is just as deserving to get to the bowl this year really anyway.

They would have never got their if it wasn't for Farve. I am not a fan but he played a hell of a game. tough to go out like that. Interesting fact that his last pass with his other 2 previous teams, GB and NYJ where also INTs.

yeah it was a 40 yarder and it was as high as the tops of the uprights when it went through. I think he would have made it from 60 if he had kicked it the same way.

The Saints kicking team didn't get the credit it deserved. The punts were deep and high and most of the kick offs were touch backs.... that plays a huge part of the game espcially with field position.
