:stop Are you in favor of gay marriage?

I am, very much so.
I am straight, but I believe that every person has the right to pursue his/her happiness.
I also believe in freedom, and if a couple is not free to swear love, faithfulness and support to each other because it's against the law, their personal freedom is being violated.

what are your thoughts on this?

don't care what homos do in their house HOWEVER the word 'marriage' has definite connotations and serious implications. I think the homos should choose a different word and STOP confronting the religious right with dick sucking etc...

Let them be miserable just like the rest of the people that are maried.

Lawyers are gonna love it!! Because all of the gay guys i know cant stay with just one person. They will cheat and they will know how divorce and getting half of your shit taken away feels.

Let them all share in the misery of marriage and divorce. All i can say to gay people, is beware what you wish for, because you may not like the results.

I dont believe in a contract between people that is enforced by the state. They are very messy when you want to devolve them.

I love my girlfriend a lot, but if she pisses me off, im out the door. If i piss her of she is out the door. Its that simple and that wonderful. She isnt walking out with half my shit and i don't need an attorney to end it.

Totally. I don't understand the need to make it hetero - religious, I know :P - but still, when it's not a sacrement of union or a symobolic soul unification, it's a goddam contract - and gays need to protect themselves from each other as much as the breeders do...

The key here is that you have the government (NOT THE CHURCH) trying to tell people what they can or can not do. This has zero to do with the church, as marriage is not legally bound by the church, the legal binding is done so by the state. People need to start to realize that there is a difference.

i'm not against anybody's rights and freedoms to express themselves even if its sexual experiments. people are not being born lesbian or gay they become one. purpose of marriage is to continue with family traditions passing them to new generations.
gay and lesbian movement is a natural birth control - individuals within the movement consciously decide to discontinue passing on their genes further in time. let them people do what the hell they want to do.. they wanna get married to have tax benefits let them if they live like a family. not sure if such couples should get involved in parenting though.

I am sorry, but some of the best parents I have met were gay parents. My best friend was raised by his dad and his dad's partner. He was raise and is completely heterosexual and grew up normally just like every other kid and was given a good life.

I have two other friends that were foster children, their parents gave them up and they spent years in foster homes and adoption houses. Then they were fostered and finally adopted by one of the best parents I have ever seen. One grew up and became a Vet and the other is a college professor.

Half the traditional marriages in this country FAIL! 60% in California.

A-fucking-men... pun pseudo-intended...

I don't care what you call it, civil union, marriage, whatever... but the government does NOT have the fucking power to strip rights from people because of sexual orientation. It's obscene, disgusting, appalling, and unacceptable that ANYONE in the United States thinks this is an acceptable practice...

Unless people wake the fuck up and realize that the government is overstepping the boundaries laid forth by the Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc... we're going to slowly watch our rights dwindle away. The government has caught on to the fact that they can seize control of, and regulate, anything the majority of people in the United States will not get immediately up in arms about.

Remember that just because you THINK something should be a certain way, that's your opinion. I don't give a fuck if it's greater than 51% of people think something should be a certain way. The majority is often times incorrect... Once upon a time people respected that, our founding fathers fled here seeking to put an end to it yet here we are hundreds of years later, the principals and spirit of the constitution lost and the general populous not even interested in what's really going on.

Seriously, good to know. I can't grasp to imagine for a little kid have mom and pop in the same gender and going through growing pains.. it is just too surreal to imagine. You are totally right about divorces - horrible ratio.

if you declare to be gay - basically it tells me that your DNA is in dead end and chooses not to continue its genes further in life. its a form of suicide without an extreme of having to terminate your life instantly.

bingo! and the mo's can choose a different word than marriage and then the entire issue will drop off the map. the word 'marriage' carries real heavy baggage

and if the homos seem to glide over that 'part of freedom'

they'd be slightly justified.. no? considering you have a government institutions deciding peoples religious rights and beliefs.

which, last time i checked, is against your constitution.

so the next time a gun thread comes up, just remember that the clock is ticking for when someone decides you have no right to your freedoms

I am straight, married with two kids.

I am the biggest advocate for gay marriage and allowing gays to adopt.

i think being gay is wrong.. i certainly will never push this opinion like its some form of absolute truth. i respect enough others choices not to do so plus it would not matter anyway. with that said people should have a right to live like they want

Everyone definitely have a right to freedom of choice, expression, belief if it does not harm anyone else

i maybe naive, but i was raised believing everyone has equal rights

it's disconcerting to discover this is not the case.

Gay's should be allowed the same rights as blacks, women and any other person on this planet! 60 or so years ago it was slavery and women couldn't do shit now it's gay's It will always be something because to live side by side with people someone has to hate someone just to make the world go round! *shrugs*
