Out of the blue, 2 years ago at age 33 I had the onset out of death-fuck-dying asthma/allerges. Took about a year before figuring out how to manage it. Tried clariton and zyrtec and they didn't really work for me. The doc finally prescribed me Flonase, and that was the miracle cure. Side note... at that time I was pretty out of shape, about 5'7" 185-190. Since then, I got in shape by running about 20-30 miles per week and some easy weight training, hitting bags and stuff. I haven't had to use my meds more than maybe 1 or 2 instances since then. Getting in better shape seems to have helped a lot but def give the Flonase a go. Takes about 3 days to kick in but it works like a charm and the doc says its very mild so you can get on and off it whenever you need for as long as you need.

I like the 24 hour Claritin RealTabs. They melt under your tongue and work great for me.

I never had any problems with allergies until I moved here to Vegas. I would have thought I'd have had more problems living in Florida and South Carolina with all the pollen, but I didn't. For some reason though when I moved to Vegas, my eyes were running watery like crazy. I'm talking bucketloads! lol

It looked like I was crying constantly. But taking one of these Claritin a day stopped it completely. And it's non-drowsy and I don't feel any effects from it so I can work with no problem

If you want to try a few natural alternatives, buy a Neti Pot and clean out your nasal passages 2 - 3x per day. Also, depending on where you live, see if you can find *local* honey. Take a teaspoon a day. Theoretically can boost your immunity to the airborne pollen.

Be careful with the local honey remedy, have some benadryl on hand in case your throat starts to close up. Some of the smaller producers have quite a bit of pollen in their honey it seems.

I take quercetin and make sure to go outside and breathe deep daily. I've found that I can trade a few short hours of suffering at the start of pollen season for a much much milder reaction the rest of the time.

While I used to have horrible allergic flareups in spring and fall every year lasting for a few weeks, since on this regimen I've suffered less than 10 hours per year on average. I'll have to admit this year was a bear though, the allergies came on while I had the flu, for a perfect storm of misery.

I start off the spring pollen season with an afternoon mowing of the lawn. This clogs up my sinuses, ensures quite a few sneezes & itchy eyes for the rest of the waking hours of that day. After that I rarely notice any allergic reaction until fall rolls around and I enjoy a day out around a lot of plants to prime my system again.

If you take Quercetin... use a formula with added Bromelain... works synergetically...

And avoid dairy...

Seriously, check your nostrils for hair... If you are growing hair inside your nose, it can lead to bouts of sneezing...

Avamys nasal spray...ask your doctor. Great stuff but you can't get it over the counter, at least not here in Australia.

Taking local honey does actually help. Not much good to you if you live in a city, but those in the country shouldn't have a problem finding something local.

The problem might stem deeper, you might want to check in getting a humidifier to clean the air your breathing at home
