I was just reading a survey on the different prices charged in different countries to purchase the iPad......thought it may interest a few here.
(Reuters) - Britain and Europe are the world's costliest places to buy Apple Inc's new iPad computer, with prices around a quarter higher than in the United States, a new study has found. Seems Europe is getting ripped off ! Yahoo/News Report

VAT and bullshit market pricing due to "currency fluctations" make this true for pretty much any consumer good over the pond.

I think it is the same with some cameras.
You can't use the warranty unless it is in that zone where you bought it from.
