Yea I agree with your theories, I'm not sure, I really wonder if it is what they will announce..

If it was a spacecraft it would be three times the size of Jupiter.

I also read this:

"The only known elemental compound that could withstand the heat, with regard to the proximity is Tantalum hafnium carbide (Ta4HfC5). With a melting point of 4488 K or 7619 °F. ... a diamond is the only known that has a higher melting point."
