Yes, $7.00 is too much but I had one sponsor charge me $12.00. Needless to say, I dropped that sponsor.

Looks like it might be a way to try to gently force you to use the electronic pay providers? Some have "kickback" programs for referring customers.

It makes you wonder what's next. Perhaps they will take their bandwidth costs and divide it evenly among the number of affiliates in the program and charge them each their fair share per month? Thankfully affiliates still have plenty of choices and don't have to do business with such programs.

No one should charge you a dime to cut a check period.

You are doing them a great service. They should kiss your ass.

We don't charge for checks, wires, or Paxum payments because seems greedy to charge affiliates to get their money.

It's kind of ironic that direct deposit is listed as costing more money than a paper check.

When direct deposit was introduced all those years ago, the entire selling point of it was that it SAVED MONEY for the company and bank by not needing any paper.

How does anyone justify $7 for a check. $1 I can understand but not $7.

If you're only charging $1-$3 then you could as a program just as well leave it and not charge.

What's more important, cutting the checks @ $2 and giving the affiliate the feeling "ok, they don't charge much but they did charge me" or charging nothing and giving the affiliate the feeling "swell program, going to promote it more, at least they do not charge me for cutting checks"

sometimes the little things in life have a huge consequence

It depends. $7.00 isn't just for the check in my opinion because it helps to pay for things such as accountants, accounting services, accounting software, bank fees, affiliate / payee support, lost check recovery, sales and financial reporting software and technical support assoicated with that software, etc.

I remember Gamma always took a couple bucks off my checks, which at the time was the only sponsor I can remember charging for "check processing". But now it is much more commonplace.

At SellHealth we never charge a dime for checks sent by regular mail. We also deliver checks by Fedex for free for payments over $1,000, and charge a reasonable $20 for checks below $1,000.

Caught on the news today a bank charging $2 to check your balance via ATM.. at their own ATM. Another who charges $6 a month if you DONT use your debit card that month. Another charging $8.95 monthly service fee for an account titled "Totally Free Checking".

These sort of "bill stuffing" is going to get smacked down hopefully. Or be forced to itemize (how much exactly of my check that you charge me to receive the money you owe me is to pay the employee pressing the button? lets see it on the stub)

Not exactly on-topic, but close enough for jazz.

One of my friends used to payout 25+ checks every two weeks.
So he would get at least $50 back every two weekends for dropping mail..(when it was 22cents per mail)

Makes a lot of sense actually. It shows the way the sponsor thinks about the affiliate. Read between the lines. There's a lot of stuff like this.

It's not always a simple matter of "cutting a check" though... A lot of international banks will charge $5-10 to write up a US-negotiable USD bank draft.

Hi All,

At Wishing.com we have never charged a cent to our affiliates for sending a check - cost of doing business.

We never charge to re-send a check....

Also, we will get ACH payments setup soon and will not charge for this either.

Happy Holidays,

Todd

Go with what sponsor makes the most profit from your traffic. Changing a sponsor because they charge $5 more to send a check just seems stupid imo. What if the cheaper one makes you wait 2+ days longer to get your check? Or on average converts just 1 less sale per period. Is the fuss over the $5 check fee really worth it?

Try telling your hydro company or the government that your tax check will have a $12 fee for you to send them your money.

Any fee to pay someone money they've earned is ridiculous. You should charge them a fee for the inconvenience of using a paper check in this day and age.

To me it is all ridiculous.

I seems most revshare/affiliate programs are offering BIG bonuses if you send them 100+ sign ups per month (How many people actually make these?) or $75 PPS specials where you need to generate at minimum $250+ in sales first before they will send you anything plus you need to send them an email notifying them you participated in the special $75 PPS within a specified time frame and finally you have to wait to see if any sales generated don't look fraudulent to them.

On top of all that they nickel and dime their affiliates to have a check sent to them for $0.44 cents. $1 at most if overseas.

I'm sorry but I'm in the same business as all of you and it appears to me that that a lot of the revshare/affiliate programs out there are just as deceiving as some websites are to their consumers in regards to billing practices

Join today for $1.95 and get free access to 100 other sites.. In small "quotes".. $49.95 will be billed to your account if you don't cancel within 30 seconds. (Exaggeration)

Same thing is going on with $7 charges for revshare/affiliate checks and the misleading advertising on the consumer end.. It is all wrong in my opinion..

Well most of sponsors dont charge anything for checks anyway.Usually high fee are applied from non usa sponsors.

That's way too high. A reasonable amount would be the postage fee plus a nominal amount for the check, $1-2 max. Beyond that, its simply a way to skim off affiliates.
