Affiliate Marketing guide for Beginners [ADULT niche]

Guys!

I would love to share with you some of Affiliate Marketing basics (especially for an Adult market)! If you are just a beginner here, then this article/guide is for you.
I build it according to my own experience and also the experience of my colleagues
I will be happy if it helps you somehow!

PART I

(No promotional materials – only educational content!)

We’ve decided to create a simple, yet useful guide that will help you all to understand the basics of the Affiliate Marketing (for the Adult niche) – including our own VR porn niche!

How difficult is working in the Affiliate Marketing?

Well, the answer is: pretty much like in any other business or entrepreneurship. You need to learn the basics, do some first steps to start your adventure, perhaps crash multiple times when learning… to eventually skyrocket with your venture!

Affiliate Marketing will allow you to have the financial freedom – and you probably know that being free never comes without a price and/or dedication.

Learning the basics

If you are a beginner, we should start with describing how the mechanisms of the Affiliate Marketing actually work.

In general, Affiliate Marketing - it’s when you sell others product and get commissions for that.

You can sell it on your own website or buy the traffic (visitors) somewhere else and sell them the product.

In general, there are two main players in this “game”:

The Affiliate (often called the Publisher, too) – YOU;

And the Advertiser – the entity that owns the product that you will be selling.

If you’d stop here, you could probably begin making money already – although only if two important conditions have been met: you know the Advertiser and he has the tools to track your sales properly, and thus can pay you the commission that you have worked for.

The problem is that not every Advertiser has such tools – and that’s why we need to point out yet another “player”: the Affiliate Network.

Affiliate Network is a platform easily connecting the Affiliates with Advertisers, providing them with clear statistics of their sales, including data like:

clicks;
unique visitors;
sales;
chargebacks;
trials;
rebills;
confirmed users;
and much, much more…

Here the Affiliate is happy to have an opportunity to optimize/analyze everything that’s going on for him, and the Advertiser is happy to see clear statistics and verified sales of his products.

As an example, these are our VRB Cash dashboard statistics:

Choose your Sub-Niche!

If Adult - it's a niche, then you should choose more spesific niche to start working.

What’s the best Sub-Niche for you? Well, it all depends on what you like the most! Enjoying live cams? Or maybe adult games? Or perhaps you are one of those perky and ambitious guys and you want to promote VR?

The choice of your sub-niche should be dependent on the website you have:

For the Live Cam website: Tubes, Male-enhancement pills, Libido pills, Adult toys

Review/Blog website: All niches

Gallery website: Tube, Cams, Dating, Adult toys

Adult Games website: Hentai, VR, Gallery

VR Products website: Hentai, 3D Games, VR, Games (non-adult), Adult toys

These are not the inviolable combinations and you can surely create something on your own. With enough creativity, you will be able to come up with your unique sales funnel that no one else could ever repeat.

PRO TIP ✓ If you don’t have a website, just pick the niche you like the most. That way it will be easier for you to promote it!

Pick the Traffic Source

There’s plenty of those to choose from, so let’s briefly discuss them one by one.

• Your Website
This is your #1 Traffic Source in most of the cases. After building your website, you can start earning from the SEO traffic – meaning the visitors coming to your service after finding it in the Google browser. This is the long way of getting HQ traffic.

• Advertising Networks
The Advertising Networks are as well used for gathering the websites’ traffic to sell it. Thanks to them, you can easily target your audience and track traffic – and they usually offer a lot of options to choose from. Remember though that usually when you focus on the quantity, the quality starts to go down.

We would definitely recommend you to try these Ad Networks: Exoclick, JuicyAds, Traffic Stars, Traffic Junky

• Direct Traffic Buying
That’s the perfect example of the high-quality traffic, as you can choose the website to buy the traffic from – meaning the more consistent users coming from this source.

• Email
Else collected on your own via your website, else bought as an email database. (You can use Email services like: SendGrid, MailGun)

• Context Ads
You can promote products on Google Adwords, BingAds, Yahoo Gemini.

• Ads powered by Google: Text and Display (banners). This option is great because of the re-targeting option, giving you an opportunity to bring the users back to your website after they have already visited it in the past. Context Ads are difficult to set up, it’s rather expensive, but you will have fast results and very detailed targeting options. You could advertise your product to your neighbors even! The example of Google Adwords Ads:

• Social Medias: Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, etc.
Useful after paying enough attention to making your channels grow or after buying ads with the use of them. Again, good option here - it’s targeting.

You can create Facebook Group or Youtube channel - which could be a free traffic source for you. Check also what Facebook advertising proposes you.

• Pushes (Trend of last year)
You can collect own push subscribers database on your website or you can buy it from the external provider. (Free services to collect Push Subscribers: OneSignal (non-adult), SendPulse)

• Blogs/Forums
Find the related content and write a comment with the affiliate link. It is basically a source of a free traffic! ;)

This is just the general outline of every one of those Traffic Sources – don’t worry, in the future we will describe them all more thoroughly, providing you with pros, cons and other details for each one of them.

Start your promotion

This is the moment when you need to start using an Affiliate Platform (Network), which will guide you and provide you the proper statistics for your work.

Some Affiliate Networks are strong in one niche, the biggest ones are good in many different niches.

We wouldn’t recommend you to check the reviews on the Internet, as every Network will always claim that it is the best – including the highest payouts and most exclusive offers… and all of that. Come on! How many times have you seen such guarantees on many different Networks Websites?

Although, you should most definitely consider some of our suggestions and register on the following platforms to see what they have to offer – meaning how do they deal with your business and how much you can get out of them. Our proposals are:

For VR Porn: VRB Cash

For Cams: CrakRevenue

For Adult Games: WhaleCash

For Adult Tubes: Adult Force

For Dating: Top Offers

That’s where we stop. Learn, analyze, create an account on the following networks and make some first steps in becoming the Affiliate guru.

Thank you for the post, I really liked it.

I would just add a few words about affiliate networks.

Quote:
For VR Porn: VRB Cash

For Cams: CrakRevenue

For Adult Games: WhaleCash

For Adult Tubes: Adult Force

For Dating: Top Offers
I was using (and making money) on CrakRevenue, WhaleCash, and Adult Force (and some others not listed), and for adult games my favorite is Adult Force.

The reason is that it works with Nutaku. And Nutaku now holds an enormous part of the adult games market.

Thank you for sharing. I bookmarked for later use
I have a question about Facebook. Is it useful? I mean I can imagine Facebook promotion just for some dating/sex shop traffic. Because facebook looks kinda harsh on NSFW sites.

@Anastasia_Aff Thank you for posting such valuable information. I do have question about CrakRevenue. How much does it cost to launch a Merchant Affiliate program? How long does it take to signup? What are there Terms and Conditions ?

Hello, and thanks for the post. I'm a complete newbie and just applied to one cam sponsor. Wondering how rigorous these sponsors are when reviewing applications, as I currently don't have any content on my site?
