Honey from Bees

Who's had it?

I mean, who has had it fresh like. Like straight from the nest, untouched and unprocessed?

I crave raw damn honey.

CaptainHowdy 01-25-2016 04:20 PM

Too much sugar ...

420 01-25-2016 04:22 PM

Brass keeps bees in the hood.

SIK 01-25-2016 04:37 PM

One of brassdonkeys multiple personalities does the bee thing. You have to wait though, he is currently in a street thug one.

mineistaken 01-25-2016 05:31 PM

Never bought or tried otherwise. Only honey I eat is the one I buy from actual bee keepers.
Although it does not count as untouched as they put it into a jar or something, not straight from the nest. Does that count?

Yes it's fine. Where do you get it so fresh?
The only honey I can get round here is shitty supermarket honey.

I prefer honey from your misses.

About the bees, what kind of flowers will you feed them? I would like some cannabis honey instead of this clover crap I got from walmart.

Fucking typical. Allow a user with all numerals into a forum and he just can't fucking help himself, " I prefer honey from your missus"

Fuck you 420. You fucking fuck. Why do you feel the need to bring sex into this. Bees make honey from flowers man. We don't even need to take that route.

---------------------

Ok, serious question again. You buy honey made from clover?? Is that true?
Secondly, can you make cannabis honey cos that sounds fucking amazing.

Clover honey exists, the rest is unconfirmed. http://i.ytimg.com/vi/dK65CAOS1po/maxresdefault.jpg

Like I said, I buy it from actual bee keeper (farmers and alike).
I am pretty sure you could find bee keepers selling their products in your area by searching online (or farmers discussion boards etc), or going to farmer markets etc.
Unless you claim that no one is keeping bees in your area.

RebelR 01-25-2016 09:19 PM

A friends neighbor keeps bees so we get it from him. Avoid the pasteurized stuff at the grocery store, it lacks many of the health properties associated with honey.

On a side note, due to its high acidity and low moisture content, honey will keep almost indefinitely. They found honey buried with Egyptian Pharaohs that was still good.

Matyko 01-26-2016 12:30 AM

raw honey is shit. You wanna eat dead bee parts? :S They spin/twirl the raw stuff, filter the result and That is nice 'raw' / fresh honey. We only eat it that way, buying directly from the beekepers. :pimp

wasps make jackshit. they are predators

We had some bought for us as a gift. An unprocessed block of honey straight from the nest & wrapped, they sell it in stores...

I prefer the sweet honey from a jar, the comb's very waxy

:2 cents:

georgeyw 01-26-2016 04:18 AM

Doestn' JFK harvest honey from his own bees?

pornguy 01-26-2016 05:23 AM

I get it as often as I can. Use it in coffee every day.

Rob 01-26-2016 05:28 AM

Interesting fact, honey does not spoil. They found honey that was over 3,000 years old in a Pharaoh's tomb, and it was still edible. Mmmm...3,000 year old honey.

Pretty sure that is obvious (that spinned still counts as "honey from the bees" in regards to the OP).

We get ours from Kutik's Honey Farm only because my dad lived up there before he moved in here with me and when he goes up he picks up a few 5lb jars. I like the wildflower but the clover is good too.

Don't you have any farms where you are? You can usually find local honey at a farm around you.

SekobA 01-26-2016 07:10 AM

Honey makes my Tee sweetie

freecartoonporn 01-26-2016 08:23 AM

i tried it only once.

atom 01-26-2016 08:29 AM

You guys realize all honey you buy is natural and organic. Even the honey bear at the grocery store. They only thing they do is filter it.

I looked on my jar and it says "unfiltered" but I don't see any dead bee parts in it. :Oh crap

Don't tell me that's in there.

Not quite. When they pasteurize honey, the temperatures they use kill some of the beneficial enzymes. The pasteurizing and ultra filtering process they use, removes most of the pollen in the honey and keeps it in that liquid state. Some have even used corn syrup. Up until recently 1/3 of the honey sold in the US market was actually Chinese honey that they illegally dumped on the market. It contained illegal pesticides and anti-biotics.

True, honey you buy from store always stays liquid. The honey we buy turns solidish after a while and then I have to put it in a pot of warm water to bring it back to liquid.

:lightbulb

I will buy 5 gallons of Costco honey and put it in little jars with cute labels. Then hit the farmers market with my all natural, organic honey.

I actually watched that video for the first time. So fitting. Sad at the end until you learn why the honey stand went out of business.
