Photographer looking to launch site (need help!?) - GoFuckYourself.com

Greetings All, I'm Jay, qualified photographer with experience in glamour, fetish and such. I am looking to set up a profitable Adult/Alt/fetish website over the next year. I have no experience in website building and currently use a template website (mrsite) which is too costly and I'll be changing.

As a photographer with a studio, equipment, use of models and knowledge of legal process (release forms etc) the content isn't an issue. However I have no idea how the industry works, how to profit from a website and how to build one on a budget.

I understand that this is not a 'get rich quick' industry and I'm prepared to put a lot of hours in to make it work. My current generic photography work can be seen by request.

I need step by step advice from those who know the industry best. Any contributions would be most welcome.

That's awesome, I have two main problems... a) how to actually design/build the site, allowing for member area/space for advertisement and sponsored promotion (whichever makes money) and b) How to actually make the money!

It seems you're the man for problem (a) : ) do you have an email address that I can have? It would be easier to communicate through there as I feel this may be a substantial series of problem I may have to throw at you if you're willing : )

I have built several websites for solo models, so I have done this before. For the website design you can hire a local to design and build one for you. That can cost anywhere from $500 to $2k, depending on what you need. For making money there are really 2 models; 1) selling the content (such as picture packs or videos) either on your site or on a site such as clips4sale or pics4sale, and 2) use a membership model where members have access to the content that you produce. One people like one model over the other but it all depends what you want to do.
