Im fat, I admit it, when I got back from San Francisco, I joined the gym across the street from Video Secrets, it came with the help of a Nutritionalist and a personal trainer, as of today, I'm down 13 pounds and actually forgot to eat yesterday because I wasn't hungry. I started feeling the low sugar thing and my date made me eat a chicken and bean burritto.

Haven't always been this way, started putting on weight at 40, now at 50 I'm having so much fun that I need to live longer.

Feeling better and the gym is killing me, her plan is suppose to have me 10 pounds under the weight when I was at the martial arts studio 5 days a week in 6 months and that was in my 20's, having a slow start because Im hurt my back, so we'll see.

I've been in pain management for 5 years now.

The people that don't need it and trick their doctors into drugs that they then abuse has made it so that even those of us that genuinely need them are judged.

Never mind the hurdles that we have to jump over in order to receive treatment. Random drug testing, pharmacy contracts, regular CT scans, X-Rays, etc. ... even though nothing ever changes for us. It's all so the doctors can cover their asses in case the DEA audits them.

Now that I have optimal treatment that keeps me out of pain, people say "you don't look like you're in pain." No shit, that's because I'm getting proper treatment.

Or the "you're too young, what could possible be wrong with you?" I dunno, maybe the dozens of surgeries, some botched, the repeated entries in the same spot that has caused severe and painful scar build up, the surgery that left the hernia that now cannot be removed, etc.

Huge pet peeve of mine that you touched on.

Hope the doctors have you being able to cope with everything. Took forever to get just the right mix of things that would take care of the pain but not leave me loopy.

this week will be 28 years for me living with diabetes, i remember how for the 1st many years i went into the bathroom to give myself injections because i was embarrassed about it all and that's how it was done back then anyway. but then one day i realized how backwards that is- going into a dirty public bathroom to inject myself with a syringe makes zero sense.

I would not say its embarrassing because of the medical condition... its embarrassing because its uncommon to inject yourself in public.. I would not inject myself in open public, it simply be strange ... But its not because I would be embarrassed of diabetes, not at all.

It's gotten to the point where you can't even mention a drug by name. I have migraines (among other things) and occasionally I get aura migraines where I need to get a shot to make it stop. They can't give it to me in an epi-pen, it's a controlled substance and I can only get it by seeing a neurologist or going to the ER. Last time I needed it I asked for it by name which I guess is a huge red flag, it wound up taking me 8 hours to get what i needed and get out of there.

I used to have a morphine nasal inhaler for it back in the day. I can understand why they had go take that off the market, but for those who REALLY need it they never came out with an at home replacement.

i understand, for me though, as i recall from almost 3 decades ago, my diabetes was spelled out to me as a debilitating weakness that will required dependence on others and medicine for the rest of my life. as a 19 year old, this description of it all did make me feel embarrassed to have the disease. for the longest time, i hid it from people outside my close circle because i did not want them to think i was weak in any way.

Not going to do some weird diet, this is about doing it healthy, haven't had any fast food in 2 1/2 weeks, went to a party yesterday and drank water. I had a banana, an orange and an apple for breakfast this morning

You say youre not doing any weird diet but starting the day off with only carbs and sugar is only hurting you. Youve been fasted for 6-8 hours minimum and then your pumping sugar into your system. Your body needs fat and protein. Reason for eating fats you want your hormones, right? They build muscle, burn fat etc. Those are all made up of cholesterol. Cholesterol needs fats in order to be manufactured in your body.

LOL, my brother does it all the time. Suddenly you'll smell this really foul odor, look over, and there he has his pen out.

I don't really think it's a big deal, but I can see how someone might.

People are people, life is life. Nothing wrong with taking care of something that needs done.

I went over everything with a nutrionalist, it's based on me, I'm heavy for my size because of muscle mass, when I worked out in martial arts, guys that looked bigger than me, always weighed less.
Because of this, my diet is a little different and it's working, she sees everything I eat and approves, I have a app on my phone that tracks it for her

muscle density and bone density has a lot to do with it as well. why the hell are you paying someone to tell you what to eat? thats ludicrous. 3 pieces of fruit is not a balanced breakfast for anyone if your nutritionist told you that, you need to go to another one or use google. all your doing is putting your body into fat storage mode once eating that fruit even though its got a lower GI(glycemic index) than Sucrose, Fructose will still spike insulin to some degree. 60 grams of carbs for breakfast with nothing else is not a healthy nor is it a balanced diet.
