as an affilate do you prefer pps or revshare?

I have done revshare mostly amd when speaking with other affiliates there was little pps interest and mostly interest in revshare

But i always read here pps is a more popular ...

.what gives wit dat?

fuzebox 08-24-2014 11:21 PM

Revshare was an awesome model 10 years ago. :2 cents:

MPGdevil 08-24-2014 11:38 PM

Revshare. I'm in the game for the long run. Why would I pick and support shitty sites that don't convert.

Klen 08-24-2014 11:42 PM

Revshare FTW,tho pps have more sense if you buy traffic.

signupdamnit 08-25-2014 06:39 AM

It depends on numbers like the average $/sale versus the PPS payout. But if it seems like there is the chance that the sponsor will fold or play games with the rebills then PPS is better than having $ tied up in rebills which may never get paid. PPS used to be a far better deal in the days when sponsors didn't take back for refunds on PPS but those days are largely behind us.

chaseyrita 08-25-2014 07:46 AM

It depends. If you're running a fly by night program with a low user value then a PPS would be appropriate. Running high quality programs on a rev share model would make more sense. Especially those programs that offer lifetime % of what you sell per user you refer. Do yourself a favor... test all the programs you promote. Test the user sign up process. Test how they keep their users... Do they update their content on a regular basis? Does this help?

Jman 08-25-2014 07:51 AM

If you land a whale spender on cam site you'll be happy to have chosen revshare

dannypcash 08-25-2014 07:55 AM

Go with Rev share if you are thinking long term , Its Better

CourtneyR 08-25-2014 07:59 AM

I usually find my affiliates who buy traffic lean more towards PPS.

Rochard 08-25-2014 08:05 AM

Revshar - always.

pornguy 08-25-2014 08:17 AM

Rev is the way to go if its long term work. Just depends on the person and the model of traffic etc.

Andreweb 08-25-2014 08:24 AM

I preffer revshare in time it brings you more $$$ but if you want fast money then you can use PPS !

Jel 08-25-2014 08:45 AM

today, PPS.

1. 4.95 joins are easier to sell than 29.95 joins, all other things being equal (nice tour, billing page etc) which (and please god don't let this turn into another tubes are evil/tubes are awesome thread) is a factor with the sheer amount of free stuff out there that's so easily accessible today.

2. Retention ain't what it used to be. Surfers are getting savvier... they join a site, get their content fix, leave, join another and repeat - they know they can see the same 10/14/21/28/25 updates if they come back in 2 months time and pay a single 29.95 instead of multiple 29.95s, and use that to cycle through their memberships.

Now obviously this doesn't apply to EVERY surfer, or EVERY site, or EVERY program, and is my general rule of thumb these days when choosing what to push, among other variables that determine which actual sites I push from the PPS catalogue.

Some will obviously produce more EPC with revshare, but I find those are well in the minority these days.

*disclaimer
my traffic is all SE. ymmv if you have a review site for example, or whatever your particular traffic source is.

JA$ON 08-25-2014 08:56 AM

depends on the program.....1000%

rockeru 08-25-2014 01:41 PM

PPS for me as long as they pay for $1-5 trials

So, if user signs in again and in many cases uses the old accound, does affiliate get anything from it? Or is it over after the first quitting? I would suppose from the revshare name, that revenues from that customer will be shared, so how is it?

karolinaboy 08-25-2014 03:17 PM

Rev Share and hunt for big spenders.

anexsia 08-25-2014 03:27 PM

I mostly use PPS but will use Revshare on programs that I think will retain users. There's some paysites that have really great content and update often but they don't retain worth a shit and then there's some that stopped updated and retain really well! It's pretty crazy :).

TrashyGirl 08-25-2014 03:32 PM

Revshare for cams. PPS for other programs.

PaperstreetWinston 08-25-2014 03:56 PM

for cams and dating revshare, the rest pps

CPA-Rush 08-25-2014 04:02 PM

PPS for average traffic >let me try this site first - if program offer big payouts ... REV for loners or maybe engaging sites

MrGusMuller 08-25-2014 04:36 PM

Revshare

Quoted for truth. I always shake my head at those $100 or whatever PPS programs for cams because I find cams very hard to convert but very worth it for the rare occasions when they do.

I have to say that in 2008, it seemed like a lot more PPS programs went under when the math changed and the economy got harder at the same time affiliates got more uneasy with pre-checked cross-sales and card-banging.

I think revshare pays affiliates more fairly in that those who send great traffic get great money and those who send mediocre traffic get mediocre money.

SpookyCash is revshare and I almost always choose revshare as an affiliate.

I used to try to maintain a mix of revshare and PPS for cash flow, but PPS programs are just too vulnerable in an economic climate where even some industry titans have folded or stopped paying.

MediaGuy 08-25-2014 04:51 PM

Revshare. Whether webcams or a site with good regularly updated content, you make more per month. My best seller ever was a huge-boob non-nude model who has since given up the site but when she was hot, her regulars were minimum 13 months along...

:D

ErectMedia 08-25-2014 10:23 PM

Revshare but I mainly promote Cams these days. :2 cents:

CurrentlySober 08-25-2014 11:07 PM

poo-per-sale of course....

Skyworker 08-25-2014 11:20 PM

I caught money spenders for webcams partner in my sign. As result I have huge monthly rebills :thumbsup

baryl 08-25-2014 11:36 PM

In my experience revshare comes out slightly ahead but just slightly. This is for paysites, not cams.

I do two very similar programs, one PPS and one revshare. PPS is $30 and the revshare after 2 1/2 years is around $33 per signup with about the same ratios and amount of traffic.

Nicky 08-26-2014 04:15 AM

Depends on quality/content/updates etc of the site I am to promote

Feng-PD 08-26-2014 04:17 AM

depends on what kind of site... but usually i prefer pps

Markul 08-26-2014 04:22 AM

Always revshare for me..

kane 08-26-2014 04:39 AM

Unless I know the site is very good, has great content and will retain, I go PPS. Over the years I have done plenty of number crunching and I found that I make about the same either way. There some programs I will make more in the long run with revshare and others I would make less. When I add it all up it all comes out about the same. At least with PPS I get the money up front and I don't have to worry about the site being shut down, sold or whatever and me losing the rebills.

MTCCash 08-26-2014 05:27 AM

Depends on what type sites -

Webcams- Revshare - we got it, you want it, join today

FoxyFletch 08-26-2014 05:35 AM

I'm using PPS to launch my site, once it is running with smooth daily traffic flow ... REVSHARE ARE GO !

Robatolla 08-26-2014 05:42 AM

Revshare

This has only ever been true for webmasters who only get 1-2 sales a week. It's a much different story in volume. Revshare is ALWAYS better. Want proof? Every single program's model is build around this.. Who takes refunds on pps? I've never heard of a program doing this. Unless they were fraud sales that is.

PAR 08-26-2014 07:18 AM

PPS for testing and short runs, revshare is a long term game.
As PR_Glen said .. Revshare normally always better. But if it's something new/test .. I normally go with the PPS to start, if I'm going to push it more than 60 days I will switch to revshare.

Kenny B! 08-26-2014 08:09 AM

It really depends on the product and price points but over all long term weve always won promoting through rev-share.

Denny 08-26-2014 08:17 AM

Depends on the program/site but I tend to go PPS nowadays.
