The economy is for the 1% and fuck the rest, wars have decimated dozens of countries, the American infrastructure is crumbling, and the pols are having $60,000 worth of hot dogs flown in from Chicago. And you think everything is all a-ok?

I was watching that lunatic Rachel Maddow talk about it earlier for like 20 minutes straight. She tried to lay out the case that it must be a scam based on two key pieces of evidence;
exhibit a: The hotel is a one hour walk from the nice section of town. exhibit b: A taxi driver couldn't figure out how to access the hotel. Thus it must be a scam. Maybe an illegal one. That's it. The entire segment relied on those two things. That woman is as nuts on MSNBC these days as Glen Beck was on Fox News several years ago. She is lunatic level like he was. Then she said Trump's Yemen travel ban caused spies to turn against the US and warn terrorists of the raid. |
I tried to read it and find out what Trump has done that's illegal. Gave up half way through.

Paul when that kind of cash money changes hands on a construction job in the USA there is tax evasion -- bet on it. Maybe they do business differently in Azerbaijan. Never done business there.
But why anyone would want to build an outrageous luxury hotel in a shit-hole like Azerbaijan? We need SENATE HEARINGS NOW! |

Any money laundering going on at that point happens as the Trump family was over seeing the project and they would be profiting from it even if they were not directly involved. His daughter was on the site every month, every thing that went on had to be ok'ed by the Trump family.. Either they knew there was corruption going on , or they didn't but either way they profited from it and that is illegal. Basically the Trump family had full control over the project and they can not claim ignorance of wrong doing because they were in charge. Added bonus the guy they were in business with was well known as a bad guy and money launder for the Iranians. This means they went into business with a guy known to launder money on a project that was used to launder money and they ran the project.. Not much to deny about it but I'm sure it won't stop the dumb dumbs here. |

He will pay a couple million in fines the money will go somewhere into the federal budget and he will do it again. The feds can announce they did their job and "fined" someone, Trump still makes money on the deal most likely or comes out ahead on other shit like this he didn't get caught at.. everyone is happy everyone wins.. Meanwhile some kids steals a six pack from store and ends up with 3 years in jail, while all these white collar scum bags like Trump buy their way out of their crimes after stealing millions from their investors. |

This is serious stuff....using cash as payment in a middle eastern country. Who would do such a thing???

Does that story of what a businessman did (which most people do when you try to negotiate a better price...you pay in cash) have ANYTHING to do with the U.S. economy, jobs, trade, etc.? Nope. Didn't see the media doing ANY backstories on Pres. Obama did we? Only "inspirational" ones because he was baby-Jesus. But Bush? Oh yeah. He liked to snort cocaine as a young man. OMG!!! He is a reformed alcoholic! No way! He owned a baseball team. Fuck...that makes him "Hitler"! All I'm saying is that the media breathlessly reports "news" that isn't news and does so selectively. For Pres. Obama...they brushed aside anything that he did in his younger days. And I think that is correct. It doesn't matter if Obama smoked pot or did coke as a young man. That's natural for people to sew their wild oats and had nothing to do with him being President as a mature adult. BUT...Rachel Maddow didn't ever investigate some of the things that Obama did as a politician in Chicago and his ties to political radical extremists. ANd personally I never cared about that anyway. It was a non-story. And had nothing to do with anything. Who President Obama hung around with and what he believes IS relevant...but not a "news story". And neither is Trump dealing with Arab countries and using cash to get things done on a business project. Now IF he takes cash from the U.S. govt. and uses it to pay off a hostile country...as Pres. Obama did...then THAT is a news story It affects all of us. |

It's not about being paid in cash that's normal there. It's about going into business with someone known to be corrupt and participating in what amounts to high end money laundering to line your pockets. |

What money laundering? Paying in cash vs receiving cash is two different things ROFL Come on, cucks, you need to try harder than this...seriously |

Wow that was a long read, lots of padding to flush out some simple facts. But never the less as the old saying goes.

The question is then: Are there other deals like this? And more importantly, can Prez T end up being influenced because of those deals to perhaps go easy on a bad-ass country? Could he be in a position to be blackmailed? I think these are the bigger questions. |

but, no i don't think much will come out of it as it is probably hands off from both him and any elected officials enough to avoid any real charges. |

Just like every business does on specific occasions. Is it illegal? No. Not reporting it on your taxes? Yes that is illegal...just like running a stop sign and just as common. There are very FEW times that anybody receiving cash reports it. But that isn't what Trump did. He paid OUT cash. And I'd bet you dollars to donuts that any time that Trump has paid anyone in cash he got a receipt and filed taxes on it to write it off. Don't you do that when you pay cash for something? Anyway...waitresses, waiters, cab drivers, doormen, etc. across the country definitely understand what it means to get cash instead of credit or a check. If Rachel Maddow thought her reporting on this on MSNBC's HUGE audience was going to anger real working people...she is greatly mistaken, and as always: out of touch with the people. |
