hey Mike South, are you going to...

Are you going to make an effort (a public effort that is) to get an official statement from anyone other than XBIZ and I? hmm...i wonder...

Whatever transpires from this point on will speak volumes about you.

Btw, thanks for all the publicity. Priceless. :thumbsup

I think this whole thing speaks volumes to you, until this thing got ugly you felt it was beneath you to answer the little people as your friend put it. When its the little people that read your magazine and buy tickets to your show. A little common courtesy was too much to ask.

Do you really think the guy from ICM is going to tell truth? IFFOR which is the governing body, they havent been created yet and there is only one adult industry person on that. 1 out of 7 so how impoartant do you think we are to them , not very. They know we will all have to run out to buy them to protect our domains in the event it becomes law. This lets understand and work with them, what work with them, they think we are scumbags that have to be babysit and they know if it goes thru they have us by the balls.

mikesouth 02-01-2007 05:45 PM

OK Alec why are you trying to bait me I have public statements from AV, The Free Speech Coalition, You.

I also have promises of support both up and down the ladder.

Many of those people are swearing that ASACP has entered into an agreement with with ICMR to get 7-8 dollars kickback on every domain sold.

pure speculation at this point as nobody has offered up solid proof yet, but it is on the record that ICMR tried this tactic with the FSC

other than that as far as I know only a few other non industry voices are supportive and their support is waning.

You wanna tell me whom else I should be asking...feel free.

Hollywood Horwitz 02-01-2007 05:50 PM

If Helmy starts a drama thread, then he means business, and I personally would not want to be in Mike's shoe's.....

On a positive note, I can't wait till next week!!! Xbiz awards party and the pres suite party are going to F-ing rule!

davecummings 02-01-2007 05:50 PM

Here's what Paul Fishbein told me this afternoon, and I posted to another thread; perhaps this is of interest? See Below:

"At the very beginning, some people pushed us toward the .xxx and I originally thought we would support it. But almost immediately, when we talked to people and realized the ramifications (censorship and other reasons), we withdrew any support. We want what's best for the industry and our customers and clearly .xxx is not."

Not really it makes you look very untruthful. I had high respect for you, your work creating asacp and creating the paper of record. All this has changed that, makes me a little sad. I think you have a real agenda, especially when we were told you consider us the little people.

That's a bold statement Roger :winkwink: The "industry spokesmen" took two days to word what you just wrote. Totally overwhelmed by the speed you can issue these statements man :pimp

False.

You may want to start looking for new 'trusted sources'.

I hope I haven't disappointed you with this bit of information.

Not sure what AV is.

Is that all you got so far?

Honestly i dont think Helmy supports it. I believe he's just trying to create an open platform for all voices and sides of the adult industry.

I dont think they will be able to force a world wide industy into .xxx. if anything it will just be another .TV :2 cents:

Webby 02-01-2007 06:14 PM

This thread is getting damned funny - the hypocrisy is beginning to seep thru the pores :pimp

I'm gotta start an organization for the religous conversion of "porn addicts" and another to protect the world's children from swamplife and hypocrites.

Well Your friend Stephen said he is your voice your Bush and he is Tony Snow and the president doesnt have time to deal with idiots and then there was this gem:
Although I've been there since day one, I'm not "an employee" of XBIZ and Alec is not my "leader" he's my friend. I invest in him because I believe in his vision, drive and capability. If he asks me to do something like answer a question that he's too busy making money to deal with, then I'm more than happy to do that for him.

He didn't "fail" he provided a clear and specific response that I posted for him.

This whole "issue" is the same as a telemarketer being pissed off because when he called at dinner time to sell some aluminum siding, he got hung up on...
Maybe let your people know, how humble you are.

The reason you were asked was it is your show you invited the ICM to speak and its based on it happening. We both know we are not going to get a straight answer,so it leads many to believe you want this to happen.
Also if you want to have the paper of record and the show of record you have a responsibility to answer questions. If you dont like it find something else to do.

no its based on it happening and once again iffor makes the rules 7 people only one from the adult industry. Not much to talk about, what is he going to say if it happens I got you all by the balls? I think not and webmasters at shows traditionally lose their balls at the door. So its easy to have a softball seminar

Don't you think they were more than silly thanks to you inability to respond Alec?? Now you instigate this thread attempting to do exactly what your "spokesman" attempted to decry others for - drama.

As already said - kid behavior.

Jace 02-01-2007 06:25 PM

HELMY, I am trying to stay out of all this because I feel it will get settled in time, but I am just curious as to why you won't say yes or no whether you support .xxx?

it is like a 21 year old virgin that can't lie, ask him if he is a virgin, if he says no then he obviously isn't, but if he doesn't say anything and then tried to deflect attention, then we obviously know the answer there

it is really seriously beginning to start looking like you support .xxx, and if that is the case, can you let me know where the unsubscribe form is for xbiz world?

not sure if you already did it, but since you seem to care so much about .xxx, then you could perhaps voice your opinion to ICANN as well?

reminder: emails should be sent to [email protected] (they need to be confirmed by clicking a link from the auto-responder)

this applies to anyone who says how anti-.xxx he is, but hasnt taken their time email ICANN yet :upsidedow

I love all the people that say they don't support it, yet don't bother taking a few minutes to compose an email.

Anyone that needs help constructing an intelligent comment can approach me, and I will assist you.
