holy fuck, is that a joke? Does that guy really speak in public like that? "tryin' to come down here and tell us how to run Texas..."
The guy sounds like a complete retard. I say let those fucks break off from the Union. They'll either go to war with Mexico or dissolve into fractious city-states inside of 10 years. |

The problem is states like Texas, Florida New Jersey,New York, Cali and a few others all get the shit end of the stick. These states Residents all pay more taxes in, than what they get back. Meanwhile these states are supporting states like Alaska which has no sales tax or state tax yet gets back over 2 times as much from the Federal govt compared to what is paid in. In short it's like welfare for states. You have one group one paying more taxes and group two paying less taxes and getting back more. The funny thing is, the ones in group 2 tend to be Conservative Red states with the exception of Texas. Yet it's typically the people in those states that cry the most about federal welfare, meanwhile they live in welfare states. |

Will we need a passport?

I wish Florida would go the same way. We need to get out from under the Federal Government. They're out of control.
. |
Funny, didn't hear much about this while Dubya was in office.

This has nothing to do with any one administration it has to do with the general movement by the federal government to take over states rights. From what I understand from most of the people in both parties is that they are tired of the expanding federal government. No matter how in-articulate the gubnuh may be, these are the points they are trying to make. Here is a copy of H.C.R. 50 so you can read what exactly is being stated. From what I understand there are quite a few states that are presently drafting this kind of legislation. What most of the states are tired of are the laws and resolutions that say you will take this money from us and do what we tell you to do or you will pay the consequences. The funniest thing about this is that their are donor states and there are states that are the welfare states which receive more than they put in. The donor states are given their money back and are told what to do with it, this would be like your bank telling you that before you are allowed to withdraw your money from our bank you must spend it on something that would be beneficial to us. There isn't a single one of us here that wouldn't tell the bank to :321GFY Go Fuck Yourself!

We've been closer before. For example, the race riots of the late '60s. |

Since a few asked for it, it would be nice as a CA resident if we could cut the rest of you off. Ya we pay higher taxes here, currently are pretty broke, but fuck it - we do not get our fair share of tax dollars in reimbursements from the fed (we pay in more than we get). Plus our economy leaving would pretty much fuck the United States credit, export power, etc.

Texas hasn't been an independent republic since they were annexed over 100 years ago. |
http://www.mikeyddddd.com/gfy/images...es-cowboys.gif Texas has no more right to secede than any other state. However, Texas may be divided into five states, which would increase the total of senators representing the state as well as increase the amount of electoral votes over the number for the single state. |
