.xxx is full of malware and virus. Also they use tracking software in the age validation page wich they add to every site as well as controlling what you have on your website. No way dude i like to be in control of my stuff myself.

I wont, but i think that a lot of people will buy them then park them. Im guessing that after 2 years of being parked, most will not get renewed at $80 each (OUCH!!).
In 5 years, .xxx will be just like .mobi, .biz and .tv. .Com is the gold standard and hopefully it will stay that way.

Public and private opinion will often be different but I guess people will fall into 1 of 5 categories.
1. Will boycott "out of principle". Some will be genuinely against it morally, others because they can't afford to backup all of their domains at the expected prices. 2. Will dismiss it as being just another pointless .co, .mobi, or .tv 3. Will quietly protect key domains, but not go on a speculative purchasing spree. 4. Will secretly try to pickup untaken keyword domains that they can piggyback on the dotcom of. 5. Wait for somebody to acquire one of "their" domains, and use lawyers to get it for free. Number 3 for me.

a good question would have been, if you have a very good .com adult name will you buy the .xxx for it?
If you don't have a good adult .com domain but had a chance to register one like "freeporn.xxx" would you. I think your results would be a little more accurate then. Fact of the matter is 95% of the people here don't have good .com adult domains and wont be able to register a good .xxx. So with that being the case who is going to spend $60+ to register a crappy .xxx domain ??? hence it's an easy question to answer for most people [x] no I will not be buying an xxx domain.

This maybe a fucked up example but say little Johnny a 21 year old with a working clean Visa has been told about abc123.xxx or sees the ad.. wait he can't see the site. 1- you paid for the click or the webmaster did and the CPA is now just a little more. 2- frustration on a product that is an impulse .. little Johnny knows that tubes are free and not on a .xxx ... or option 2 say tubes also get blocked .. he will download it for free... ITS NOT LIKE PEOPLE WILL GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO FIND A SITE TO PAY TO SEE... 3- Ok say Im wrong and little Johnny or anyone at all .. does go to abc123.xxx via a webmaster ad and .xxx is blocked... He then changes the .xxx to .com and get to your site.. If little Johnny that likes to spank it to porn clicks on a link: abc123.xxx/?nats_id=afasdfasdfasdf do you think he will type abc123.com/?nats_id=afasdfasdfasdf NO will that even work NO... as the sites in NATs are not the same they use a dif NATs webmaster ID.. Will his cookie follow him from .xxx to .com NO *their is no cookie the page did not load* Now on to billers.. I'm not naming names *nor do I know them* But do you really think that company QW@R LTD that is doing shaddy cross sells and reselling/repushing user data, will not just hide the cross sale if told they can't do them from ICM and still just push the data anyways via the backend.. "Welcome to [email protected] thanks for joining *much lower in the welcome email /// if at all* btw you are now also a member of asdf.com for free for 3 day rebilling at nine thousand euro a month..." How many people have contacted your host let alone godaddy, moniker, names.com, etc to bitch about your sites or anyones cross-sales .. my guess nobody EVER.. AS for CP.. does anyone here have CP (NO) will anyone with CP buy a .XXX NO! do they need to NO!!!!... They will keep doing what they do now.. Why would they change what they do now. What reason do they have ... NONE... What gain will the fight on CP on line have from this .. NONE.. Ok I can keep going on and on and on on this Are there some upsides... Yes I did not list any because the rule are not out yet and we have not tried it .. will I buy .. not for at least 12 month most likely never... And they have been out for how many years... Spend your $60+ a URL.. even if it works out I may miss the bus on sex.xxx etc.. maybe in a year or 2 ... 5,000,000 urls will be taken, there will still be a few good ones.. I am left with the same question I had years ago .. sTDL names cost more but where exactly is the money going.. $$$ in ads to tell people Hey you can block this.. Oh and btw there is 0% CP... and.. would google change it's algo to block .xxx... hummm well would they change it to push it to the top.. they didn't with any other sTDL It's easier to block then to increase its value.. .xxx nofollow.. or .xxx = adult flag unsafe.. *ya I know that is not real code* But you have to admit it's easer to write then to change the algo to what would be needed to push .xxx up based on adult keywords. When you think Google will not make a dime more for doing a big ass aglo change for .xxx But the PR from adding extra function to it's safe search that takes a couple lines of code will be a nice pat on the back.. |

I have to agree with earlier posters. .xxx will be banned and monitored heavily. Easier/cheaper to go with a .com and stay safe, play with the content you want and not have to mess with it.

If it gets to the stage where all porn has to be on .xxx, and filtered, databased, monitored, search engine penalised etc.etc, then it's time to make money from other things. And .xxx is worthless until porn is removed from .com (which may never even happen). |

Just no reason to register one... they aren't going to increase my revenue, so if I was going to ever buy an off extension, it would be the cheapest one. At least I could buy a ton of them and have a better chance of increasing my revenue through volume and have to cover far less per domain to keep the micro domains.
