The nature of the Jury system is that it's up to jurors to decide on guilt beyond *any* reasonable doubt. The jury must make the decision after sitting through all of the evidence presented to it after countless hours in court. Sometimes juries will get it wrong but I'd much prefer to live with the Jury system than the alternative.

In this day and age almost anything is within reason.. because so many fucked up things happen.

It isn't impossible to imagine that the mom was a basket case shitty liar mom but that someone else killed her daughter.. because shit like that happens everyday.

In civil cases it is preponderance of the evidence not beyond reasonable doubt , thats why o.j. was found guilty in civil, in a civil case your side just has to have more evidence in favor than the other side to get a guilty verdict.

I wonder if anyone can sue her for murder in civil court ?

That would be the dad (who is dead), or the grandparents George and Cindy. Highly unlikely that George and Cindy are going to sue their own daughter, who doesn't have any assets anyhow.

not sure why it would be so insane for her father to sue her, didn't she say he molested the granddaughter and basically that he killed her or something ?

Over did it one night, called dad first, he being the ex-cop/ detective and having knowledge where chloroform could not be detected after 30 days told her to hide the body for 30 days and to keep her mouth shut, dont say a word to know one and to live her life like normal so she rode around with the childs body in the trunk till it started to stink from decomp, then bagged her up and disposed of it like trash.

They should all be convicted of a crime the whole lot of them.

Wrong. There wasn't any proof Anthony killed her kid. Accidental or otherwise. Do I think she had something to do with her kid's death. PROBABLY. In the US juries are not supposed to convict that someone "probably" did it. Do you know why we have people that get released form prison after 10, 15, 20 years after it was found out they didn't actually do the crime. "Direct Interest" means someone who had custody of the child or took care of the child. That rules out the dad because he's dead. That rules out the brother unless he can prove he took care of the child. The only people that can sue for wrongful death against Casey are the grandparents Cindy and George because it seems like they did in fact take care of the child. And like I said before, what's the use of suing someone who has no assets? It's a waste of time any money.

As for Casey rolling around in cash, that's unlikely because from what I hear, attorney Baez has all the book and film rights. He got that in return for representing Casey for free or lowered fee.

Whether it looks like she did it or not doesn't matter. What matters is what you can prove.

There was no evidence saying she killed anyone.

There was no murder weapon.

There was no DNA saying she murdered anyone.

They didn't even know how the kid died.

You can't send someone to prison or to death with 0 evidence. The jury got it 100% right based on the evidence.

Plenty of innocent black men have walked out of prisons after 20 years because of jury's who convict on 0 evidence.

I'd never date her though.. I'd be scared I'd end up in the woods in a bag somewhere. =x
