In this case, Kim Kardashian and her new whatever it is she's selling this week.

Rumor has it that this was a set up. No charges were filled. Blah blah blah.

@baddog - My guess is that it had something to do with fur. The other week she attended a Kanye West fashion show wearing fur.

*hotlinken*

Kanye West uses Astrakhan fur in his pieces. They actually cut the lamb from the pregnant sheep before it's born and use the fetal pelt. It's softer that way..............

from Wikipedia...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrakhan_fur

Karakul pelts

Very young or even fetal Karakul lambs are prized for pelts. Newborn karakul sheep's pelts are called karakul (also spelled caracul), swakara (coined from South West Africa Karakul), astrakhan (Russian), Persian lamb, agnello di Persia, (Italian), krimmer (Russian) and garaköli bagana (Turkmen). Sometimes the terms for newborn lambs' and fetal lambs' pelts are used interchangeably.[2] The newborn lambs have a tight, curly pattern of hair. The lambs must be under three days old when they are killed, or they will lose their black color and soft, tightly wound coils of fur. Dark colors are dominant and lambs often darken in color as they age. Fetal karakul lambs' pelts are called broadtail, breitschwanz (German), and karakulcha. People use the lambs' pelts to create various clothing items, such as the karakul hat.[3] The pelts have been used in haute couture.[4][5]

once without being told, and as soon as I found out what I was eating I was done eating it... I don't eat baby anything.. cept maybe carrots or spinach ...

I'm not a vegetarian, but I don't believe that is a necessary precursor to dislike the idea of a fetal lamb being sliced from its mothers belly all in order for the pelt to be used for human clothing, basically because it's super soft... it just sends shudders through me

If it was free range I might see where you are coming from, but as they were bred solely for that purpose, not so much. It isn't like the slaughter of buffalo in the 1800's or harvesting fins from ocean sharks, or even whaling. They are merely a product. IMO anyway.

My husband thinks I'm a little overly-sensitive about it too..

I understand where you're coming from baddog, but when I picture the process in my head, it just.. *shudder*. I simply can't be as detached as you are about it.

It takes all kinds of people to make up a world though, right? Life sure would be boring otherwise!

I missed out on freshly butchered goat once because my first ex-wife met him an hour before he was slaughtered. We ended up eating at a frickin' McDonald's or something.
