Certainly didn't look to me like a man taking his own life to me. Regardless of whether or not one thinks it "appears" that he placed something in his mouth, people generally don't calmly sit there and die. A massive surge of adrenaline, accelerated heart rate, faster breathing, sweating, fidgeting etc etc etc. would be happening typically. Particularly when its going to happen very slow like that.

looks more like acceptance to me.

Its very obvious he had something clenched in his hand and then opens his jaw and unfolds his hand. Then to me it appears he accepts what he just did.
