well I am not trying to fight for Czech experts but I think you got bit missleading informations - Czech experts are worldwide respected and for example in the field of heart or face transplantation they are the same top on the globe.

Glad to hear it went well.. back in 1996 a crazy buddy of mine did the experimental (and free) laser eye surgery, we were all sure he'd go blind but everything worked out fine and still is fine

i have used lenses iin the past, i am not comfortable with them. especially not when i sit in front of the computer. also swimming with lenses sucks and i always had trouble when doing sports.

also it's already done, so theres no debating where it would have been better etc.

How long you used lenses? Or rather, how many different lenses you used before?
Before I found lenses which I use today, I tried about 6-7 different lenses from different producers.
In some lenses I had blurry vision, other was often sliding off my eyes, other was causing pain, etc, etc. Only after many tries I found ideal ones. They fit eye perfectly, I see perfectly clearly and I can even swim or dive in them. The key is just to find right ones for you.

But as you said, it's already done. I hope that everything will be okay
Enjoy discovering world once again, lol.

im too scared to do that. You only have 1 pair of eyes, and what if you are 1 in the million that goes wrong? Don't think i'll ever do it. I got hard contacts, buy them once and they stay good. 1 is 5 years old & one is 2 years old (those were the last times that one broke or got lost)

This is bullshit. Only a very small fraction of the people have a slight halo effect in the dark, and for most of them it's not bothersome and still worth it to have 20/20 vision without having to ever wear glasses or contacts again.

It doesn't matter where you get the surgery, the equipment is the same everywhere and the doctors are always skilled and trained professionals for the procedure. I did mine in a third world country.

People should not be afraid for this. There is so much false and wrong information about laser eye surgery. You have more chance of being hit by a car when you cross the street than becoming blind or have severe complications from laser eye surgery.

I know at least 10 people personally that did it and for every single one of them it was one of their best choices in their life, and everyone wish they did it sooner. There are tons of people here on the board that did it, and everyone is super happy with it.

Best thing I ever did.
Protect your eyes for a couple of weeks. Use the drops even if you think you do not need them.
I had slightly dryer eyes for about 6 months. Not use to not having contacts in to keep wind off of them... So yeah LOVE IT

a little update after routine check today and one night and 2 naps:

some minor discomfort left in one eye - but almost completely gone. the other eye is already fine.

using antibiotic eye drops every 4 hours for the next 6 days and artifical tears every 2 hours or so.

watching TV is fine, going outside and looking around is breathtaking

and even reading my computer screen is almost good, they said it takes a bit for the eyes and brain to adapt to the new situation

i would do it again anytime

I was never using glasses outside home. When I got my lenses, WOW! Seeing this whole world so sharp was amazing. I even discovered that there is a river near a way I was driving by bus

The same is when you are using glasses/lenses for a first time. Before everything was blurry and now you have clear vision, brain must adapt to this.
I got my first glasses when I had -2.75 and -2.5. I had headaches at first day when I was using them, but it is passing with time.

hey
Got myself an appointment with that clinic. I have to avoid wearing contacts for some days, which is not big deal.

It was some time I was thinking about it, but your thread was the trigger.
Well, if it works I definitely owe you a couple of beers when you are in Prague :-)

If I go blind, I'll gladly accept that you pay me one beer instead

thanks!

I don't have a problem with my eyesight, but even if I did I would not get that shit done. Ever have an eye injury? It's the most torturous pain you can possibly imagine. I was hunting one night and I got whipped in the eye with a tree branch, scratched my cornea - holy shit was that painful. It felt like someone jammed a shard of glass in my eyeball and it was stuck there. I couldn't close my eye, couldn't keep it open, it was just throbbing and tearing and hurting. Horrible. I wouldn't risk it happening with the surgery.

its completely painless - when the anesthesia wears off a few hours later it hurts a little for maybe 5-6 hours.

they gave me a painkiller, i didnt use it
