This started with one fairly large sell yesterday. This triggered a panic selling that is reaching its peak now. People are such morons. They'll never learn.
Just pick up the coins that they are dumping and watch them cry later and wondering wtf just happened. |

mid-week sell off. these used to happen on the weekends, i believe, then they switched to mid-week, reason being, according to some, is that peep's accounts are flush with funds.

This doesn't seem to be a DDoS issue. Engine lag is only 1-3 seconds.

The news of more banks refusing to do business with Bitcoin can't be helping.
News like this ripples through the Bitcoin market just like it does in Wall Street when something happens. If a large sell off happened in addition to that, it would drop it even more. |

Forgot to add, Jeff Berwik pulled out of the Bitcoin ATM project today. So that is a kick in the nuts too. Saying this...

And how do you protect or monitor such an ATM? Why with cameras of course, so there goes the anonymity of the BTC as well.

No idea. I always thought the ATM was a dumb idea to begin with. Too early perhaps, as I don't see how they are going to justify the costs for the few who would use it. However, I think the project is still moving forward but without Berwick.

Eh I had the same attitude before, then I made money off it. Dont put all your eggs in one basket and only use what you can afford to lose. From here on out its all profit my initial margins have already paid for themselves. If I lose some profits in the process its all part of the game. It's knowing when to stop

Hoping I can finally buy a few coins today at a decent price, then flip them as soon as the price rises. How long does a transaction take at mtgox? Hopefully not as long as it took to get verified.

FTC was just added to BTCe. There are buy orders at 0.05 and 0.01. Quick profit since it's only trading at 0.0026 elsewhere.

Im starting to think mtgox is just a big scam to earn interest on people's money.
I deposited money, took like 2 weeks to show up in my account. I added my bank account to their new magical wire center that is supposed to speed everything up - took a week to validate my iban number (what did they even check?). Now I requested a cash out, and 11 days later still no money. Complete bullshit, considering this is all done with banks inside the country so wires take no more then a few hours.

Domestic wire transfer, but we have two systems here. You can pay $10 and it's instant or it's free but takes a few hours.

Well, i was wrong, it didn't go below 90. The support at 94 or so was too strong. Guess a lot of people were waiting to buy cheap and weren't sure how low it would go and started buying when it reached 95. And since then we're back up it seems.

It's the result of a series of bad news stories, the coinlab lawsuit and the forum being DDoSed.
Personally I could give a fuck how low it goes. It would push some of the really stupid speculators out and hopefully keep them out. Are you referring to the 2011 "bubble" this last "bubble" or any of the future "bubbles" that will most likely occur? Oh that's right your post is actually just the economic equivalent of a retarded person throwing a wooden block at a stock ticker.

That's the assumption I'm making. It's probably the botnet owner who was attacking silk road. Hes been pointing his network all over the place trying to extort people.

Yeah possibly. Or just someone who wants to spread even more panic. There has been at least 1 person who tries everything he can to kill Bitcoin since it got big.

Read this article from the CEO of Mt Gox, it's fucking terrifying! It's like finding out the best hosting company in the world is powered by a hamster on a wheel They are fucking clueless and they are running transactions in the millions every single day Quote:
1) Peter Vessenes is suing the Bitcoin Foundation 2) SR (silkroad) was under a heavy DDOS attack 3) Someone embedded links to child pornography. This data will forever be immortalized in the blockchain and can never be deleted. The worst part? It also means that anybody who has the blockchain on their computer most likely has that data also. - Governments could have a field day with this one! 4) CoinLab has filed a lawsuit against Mt.Gox citing a breach of contract - http://coinlab.com/press It's been an interesting few days Who's buying back in? Sitting at $88 currently |
