Russians criticizing Americans for being overweight is like Iranians criticizing the Irish for being drunk.

It isn't even an option in your country. Enjoy the bread lines you fucks.

Opps, the second portion of pictures above is about Russian fast food of course

Just to show the difference in what we are used to call a fast food restaurant. A few pictures of typical food we eat there (healthy and organic - no fat overcooked shit):

That's called a buffet or a salad bar, and every casino here has 1 or more.

Nope. It's not just a simple buffet and it has nothing to do with yours in casino (at least those I've seen in Vegas). The main difference with your buffet is the assortment and quality of products. These are not just salads, but hot food as well (various potato meals, meat meals, fish meals, soups and kashas).

This is a real restaurant with waiters etc. But it's also a fast food too. In traditional Russian "трактир" all food is already cooked, so you don't have to wait for it, and if you're in hurry, you can pay once and eat everything immediately (as much as you want). If you have more time, you can spend it in the bar. If you want to eat capitally, you'll be served by waiters and the food will be cooked specially for you (the assortment will be much wider of course). And course you can mix all 3 ways of the food consumption - everything depends on your free time and wallet size You can choose a smorgasbord and order a beer/vine/vodka/wherever from a waiter. No lines like in crustyburgers, no noise, no people constantly walking back and forth, no smell of puke like in KFC etc...

P.S. All the pics above made in the same fast food network.

Who are you guys kidding? A Big Mac costs like 6 Grand in Rubles.

You have to take your grandma's ring to Sam Kinison's Pawn Shop to be able to buy one of those bad boys.

Bring me a car and a pink slip and you can get a Happy Meal!!!

Not entirely. What he's showing we have in PL too, it's called a Karczma here - which loosely translates to "Inn" except that they don't always have a hotel. They aren't so much found downtown in big cities as they are on roadsides between cities in the country. It's a bit of an unfair comparison as RU still obviously has regular fast food places like McDonalds and so forth but this style of Inn (where granted it's healthier and you do get your food fast although not "fast food") but i've never seen anything like that in the US or Canada. Definately limited to slavic nations.

They typically look like this - somewhat styled to be rustic and medieval looking, and you usually get grilled food/more homemade style stuff:

Don't know about bigmac (as I sad above, I don't eat shit), but an unlimited smorgasbord of 50 dishes with tasty organic food + soup + a drink + bread, will cost you only 295 rubles (about $5.7 USD) - less than a bottle of vodka

Or 259 rubles for a business lunch:

You are soooooooo brainwashed there

In Ukrainian it's called "Корчма" (just like in Polish ):

The old Russian one (here we call it "трактир"):

You can see all 3 components there: a tea bar (in modern version tea in bars was replaced by beer ), a smorgasbord with ready food and waiters for a personal service. Almost nothing changed for the centuries.

Not in Russia. Here they are mostly in big cities and those are huge networks like "Елки-Палки", "Тарас Булба" etc. For example, I have one in 5 minutes of walking near my home.

They don't really have francahises of them - there was one called "Polski Jadło" or something like that that had some 20 locations but they ended up going under. Overall good, cheap, fast food and I agree - better then mcdonalds - but you can't argue that there is not traditional "fastfood" like burgers, fries, and other unhealthy stuff in at least larger russian cities, and you can't argue that russians don't eat it occasionally, even if at a mall or on the way home from a bar at 2am.

Fast food is a place where you can be served fast. I wouldn't call burger a fast food. It takes a rather long time to make it for you in a real restaurant (not faster than a soup for example). I mean you can order a burger in some good German or Irish pub. It will take a some time, but you'll get a real burger - not some nasty and stinky fast food shit from mcdonalds, burger king or any other similar place.

Where do we eat during the lunch break then? Only in places like those which provide business lunches. Actually almost all restaurants here (even the expensive ones) have cheap business lunch menus.

Well, if it's anything like here - there are real restaurants with cheap lunch menus too but all the same there are people lined up at KFC in a mall or at McDonalds drive through at noon as well

No, those are not really popular among normal people here (say our middle class). You can look at the pictures of typical visitors of macdonalds and kfc in Russia and you'll see these are mostly poor people who can't afford a normal food. E.g.:

Mostly kids who're short of pocket money, pensioners and redneck-looking guys in Adidas duffle. That's definitely not a place where you wanna eat at. Looks very ugly, isn't it? ...and smells even worse

The most hilarious part of this thread is these Reds posting pictures of some jacked up "smorgasbord" and claiming Russia is some sort of Paradise.

The whole world knows how corrupt and polluted your country is and any attempt by you clowns to spin it otherwise is comical.

Russia's per capita income is about $14k USD. It isn't a party over there so stop with the fairy tales. Russia is a shit hole and you are fucked.

Enjoy!

Not of course. But out national food is definitely much better than the one you are used to eat in crustyburgers. Actually here you can choose any kind of national kitchen. E.g. French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Brazilian, Mexican, Irish, German or anything else. So normal people here are REALLY don't eat shit in macdonalds, kfc or burger king. Only the poor and lazy ones who don't care about their health.

First of all, Russian per capita is counted in rubles and it is not tied to USD, UK Pounds or anything else. The currency rate may change. It's very strange what such an uneducated person like you is doing at the business board. Now let me show you the reality.

The average official salary (which is usually just a part of income) in Russia is 30,620 rubles. In Moscow 2x times higher, of course. Looks like not too much if converted to dollars (after the recent inflation of ruble), right? But the prices here are also in rubles, and they almost haven't changed (generally less than 10%).

So even an average Russian citizen who lives for the official salary only (I don't know any of those actually ) and earns those 30,620 rubles a month, can easily spend 6,000 rubles for healthy organic daily lunches during a whole working month.

Also don't forget that...
  1. All taxes and pension funds are already subtracted from that average official salary figures (what's your tax rate?)
  2. We don't pay for medicine here and our medical insurance is 100% free (how much your family pays for Obamacare?)
  3. We don't pay for the education of our children (how many you will pay for a good college/university education)?
  4. Our utility bills (prices on water, gas, electricity, heating etc) are lower than in the USA (wanna compare?)

Now do your math, professor

P.S. I don't want to say that Russia is paradise while the USA is hell. I just want to say that it's funny when some clueless and brainwashed person speaks about my country. You have zero knowledge of Russia and have too many stupid stereotypes. That's why your posts are so silly. Please re-read my post above and google for any point given there. If you you catch me lying, please post the proof here

You are like some Internet loser who criticizes a hot chick because she has a bump on her nose. You can't fuck her so who are you fooling?

The quality of life and standard of living in Russia is no where near that of the United States.

I feel very sorry for your plight. If you were a hot Russian blonde you could sneak onto a Supertanker cargo hold and come to America to be a prostitute. Better luck next time.

Exactly. That's I never wanted to live there and rejected the job relocation offer to NYC. Have you ever been to Russia? No? Ok then

CyberSEO, why are you drooling over some bullshit "buffet"? they are common in every country including the US, there are 100s of them in Chicago alone, everything from italian buffets, to asian, to greek, even russian... and it's not expensive either, most are $5-$10...

even most pathetic loser who earns minimum wage can afford to eat at one of them after 1 hour of work...

1) Because the quality of the food. The quality of food and the assortment are really different there. Maybe it's a cultural thing but I can't eat most of the US food. I have no problem with native French, Italian, Japanese, Brazilian kitchens however.
2) Where have you seen a buffet with waiters and personal cooking?

It's not just a buffet. It's a fast food restaurant in a way it must be.

Come to Moscow and I'll show you others. Then I swear you will stop posting bullshit.

There are plenty of good and cheap buffets here with "waiters and personal cooking"... just have to know where they are... you probably went to some tourist trap, and got served overpriced crap...

it's mostly lower social groups that eat at "crustyburgers"... why they eat there? who knows? easily brainwashed by advertising?

I'm sure you are right and you have a lot of real good ones. For example, I liked some family Italian restaurant in Santa Monica (just about 10 minutest of walking from the pier). But it was not a fast food network. It was some very small and I'd say very quite and private place.

So the difference is that I've showed the large network ones (mainstream for any tourist), but not some very private places which you won't find if you don't live here.

That's what I'm talking about! I don't understand those who say that crastyburgers are cool and Russians don't eat there just because they can't afford such a good and tasty food. Those are idiots

"No, I am from New York."

Get it right. "America" is the shit you see on Fox and Jerry Springer.
is denial a big thing out in nyc? Both of you seem soaked in it....

There is nothing wrong with your country, it has its short comings like anywhere else. Pretending you are somehow excluded from them is just sad..
