half only makes sense for assets or if the total amount cash is so small it is insignificant in the long run. When its beyond hundreds of millions I can't imagine any court would come to the conclusion that someone has grown accustomed to living a life of buying islands and building empires.

This doesn't exist in canada. Even prenups are worthless here as it is up to a judges discretion depending on duration of marriage and contributions both financially and domestic responsibility.
