You think a Ferrari is inferior to a Tesla because a Tesla is quicker off the line? You obviously don’t understand what performance and style is all about. There is no comparison.

Hmmmm.....a four door sedan that does 7:23 at Nurburgring? You think that is inferior performance for what is essentially a family car? And the new space x roadster with rocket assist will probably obliterate that....without the rockets. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We are in porn so we all know that. Even Ferrari will be all electric. They already need three electric motors to stay in the game. Its over for exhaust spewing, loud gas powered dinosaurs. Going the way of the typewriter, dial up modem, and Pong. As for pretty, you decide.

Now this is a game changer. 500 mile range. 14000 pounds towing capacity. 0-60 2.9 seconds. And you can plug in all you tools or power your cottage.

Comparing some EV to a Ferrari is like comparing a $500 digital watch packed with gazillion functions to a classic mechanical Omega watch with 3 functions for $5k - why would people buy those old-school analogs in this hi-tech digital age?? You clearly don't understand what makes people pay 350k for a 35 year old Countach, especially in this age of those perfect and cool EVs..

Tesla might look cool to kids, it will never be a legend though since that vacuum cleaner doesn't have any soul, no history, no legacy. Just that wzzzzummmm

You know people are dumb, they can get this cool fast Tesla EV for $120k and those idiots still buy slow and boring Ferraris for $350k

In 21st century years, a legacy is a much, much shorter time span. When you drove a Tesla, you didn't feel any soul? How did you feel about the handling and performance? The comfort and convenience of self parking? Which model did you drive? BTW, I have driven both Ferraris and Teslas, so I believe I can make a fair comparison. But, driven by Tesla and demand, the new wave of electric vehicles is awesome. Ferrari will be fully electric soon. Within the next couple of years, gas powered vehicles will be banned in European cities. Then what are you going to do for date night at the Michelin three star? Take an Uber?

Ok, there is no point to discuss this. I would buy Ferrari - in fact, I would still buy a gasoline car, just because I prefer them to vacuum cleaners and I have no time to wait for charging. Anything above 5 minutes is too much, waste of time..

And BTW, Uber was banned too since you need a taxi license for that

I am guessing you will never own a Ferrari. A Tesla would be much more accessible. Hmmm....you charge it at home when you park it. And if waiting 20 minutes after driving 500 miles is too long, I would think you would be a hazard on the road. I have two electric cars. Neither are vacuum cleaners. You guys are becoming dinosaurs. Your kids will laugh at you...but that is as it should be. I just spent a month in Prague and Uber was everywhere. Banned?

The handling of a Tesla is numb and boring at best. If you're referring to torque and acceleration then its got it. Beyond that it's an RC car with a cheap interior and big screen. If you've actually driven a Ferarri (especially on a track) you would know this is an apples to oranges comparison

Why would someone even compare EV to a classic car?? That is just dumb. Do they compare digital watches to analogs??

I have driven Ferraris and Teslas. I have only driven my 930 on a track, though. Which Ferrari and which Teslas have you driven on a track or on a road. Where did the Ferrari outperform the Tesla. Now remember, people are comparing Tesla sedans to Ferraris, not the new roadster which would be a much better nose to nose.

Well, driving will be a thing of the past in about 15 years as well. Already, the current generation of kids coming of age are opting for car sharing, uber, bicycles, scooters...and all kinds of contraptions. It is just the way it is going. How many here can even drive a standard transmission any more. Young Drivers of America don't even teach it. Some would say driving an auto is not driving.

Motor sports is my thing so I and have a decent amount of track time behind the wheel of a 458 and gallardo/huracan. No track time with the Tesla and no desire to. Flogging it on the road again was very numb and they're heavy as hell to boot.

Pushing a Ferarri around the twisties of a road course vs driving in a straight line are two totally different beasts. It takes no skill to put on launch control, or slapping a paddle to drop a gear to do a roll race. The road course is what separates the men from the boys!

Also my own personal vehicle that has around 700hp and is just as fast. I will forever favor petrol over electric. There is nothing like feeling the boost from your turbo or supercharger hit.

That may be the case where you live and in city settings. The worlds power infrastructure can barely keep up with the demand as it is. There will need to be MAJOR break throughs in alternative energy in order for the EV revolution to come full circle

That is coming. It has to. As far as all the track stuff goes, I drive in the city. The 0 to 30 straight line time is the only stat that is important to me. I am through an intersection in my grocery getter before a Ferrari or a Lambo, and believe me where I live these cars are a dime a dozen. I will see three or four or more in a 20 minute drive downtown. My idea of fun driving is getting through traffic quickly. Parking easily. And smoking gassers through an intersection. Oh yeah, and it costs me 89 cents to "fill" my "tank" from empty.

Well if youre comparing a supercar to en EV for daily driving purposes obviously the latter will be a more practical choice. I too drive a "normal" car during the week. This started off as comparing a Tesla to a Ferrari from a handling perspective. If you want cheap speed and live in a city then a street bike is your best option

actually, it started out as a pretty car discussion then morphed. Street bike is a poor option in the rain. Ten years ago, any current Tesla would be a super car. Supercars haven't really progressed, but Tesla is on a wild ride. Nothing in my lifetime has changed the car business more than Tesla. Even his new truck, which I ordered, is an order of magnitude better than anything on the road today.

it is not strictly about performance, it is about build quality, craftsmanship and heritage, which are clearly lacking in the Tesla. there is more to life that a fast 0-60 time.

lololol.....you obviously have never owned a Ferrari. Heritage maybe. But build, quality, and craftsmanship. You gotta be kidding. It is a freeking Eyetalian car. A Fiat (fix it again tony) with a price tag.

You are speaking as if you have experience with owning either car. I think you are referring to the Tesla...have you seen reviews of the Model X, and 3? Plenty of issues to go around. And if you want to speak on build quality..just wait till you get that tesla and feel how cheap everything is. Italian leather, engines machined to finest of tolerances, one piece carbon fiber bodies...nope no craftsmanship lol.

In your mind craftsmanship is technology, not the engineering. Even still the Ferrari probably still has more tech than the Tesla, just in a different aspect. It's an F1 car for the streets.

I have had Jags with Connely leather. I owned e types. A Ferrari was a choice at the time, but I just loved the jag. I understand all that. I have driven a ton of teslas and they are just fine for fit, finish and comfort. Not Connely stitched leather, but not Nissan crap either. Engines machined to the finest tolerance....sure. And they break....a lot. They leak....alot. They are a pain in the ass. I lived across the street from a Ferrari money laundry...excuse me cough dealer...and watched them take engines out just to change the spark plugs. And they were a 2 minute walk from the Lambo dealer...same thing. These things are drug dealer and dirty Chinese money cars.

PS: Tesla is infamous for their bad quality - some of that by design, the rest because of bad manufacturing. You just won't notice that much if you drove GM, Chrysler or Ford before.

I just spent a month with a Skoda.....what a miserable automobile that was. I would take any Ford or gm or chrysler over that pos all day long. I have a gm and a chrysler. No problems at all.

As a broad general statement without knowing which model or year and what you are comparing it to, it's just a bullshit reply. But if it made you a little happier, so be it.

I was replying in kind. But this might make you just a little happier. No thanks needed.

Q: What goes on pages 4-5 of the Skoda's user's manual?

A: The train & bus schedule.

When I had a Stingray, this girl told me the only girls I would ever get were cheap bleach blonde tarts. Exactly I said. And I did.

Yeah, I had a 75 Vette and I married a cheap bleach blonde tart. Divorced her a year later and bought a truck. Still like blonde tarts though.
