How often do you clean your keyboard?

Since they are suppose to be filthy things carrying tons of germs...how often do you give your keyboard a really good clean? I guess I do mine every few weeks but I am sure it should be more often.

To be honest it would be so time consuming and troublesome to clean the "stickiness" out of it, it's simpler for me to toss it out and buy a new one.

just kidding by cleaning do you mean just wipping the board off or do you mean taking it a part and giving it a good hosedown?

I don't really see my keyboard as a filthy thing (some of them really are). It's the same as dealing with money (coins, bills), they are passed hand by hand and noone is cleaning them, or washing their hands after using them.

I just turn the keyboard upside-down and shake it a bit from time to time. Once in a while I clean it with a dry mop.

Germs are good for you.
Actually I have a ban on all antibiotic soaps and such in my house with just a few minor exceptions. I allow a bleach solution for cutting boards and such. Otherwise just typical cleaning allowed and if its not bleach, vinegar, alcohol, or ammonia it is on the prohibited list.

I actually feel people are often to clean for their own good and most of that shit people buy does more harm than good. Hell few people even know how to wash their hands let alone should have the responsibility to use a anti bacteria soap.

On that note I will clean off my keyboard about once a week with air. Maybe once every season otherwise when we do major cleaning and then it will get a light wipe down.

Um, well I would wipe it if obviously needed to be wiped..so I guess by clean I mean really getting in between the keys and that sort of thing.

Keyboards are disgusting. I remember opening my 3 year old keyboard a couple of years ago, there was nails, shitloads of hair and lots of other shit in it. Ever since I clean it on a weekly base and I buy a new one every year.

I used to clean my fugly looking keyboard with water and a dishbrush every other month or so and just let it dry. But my new keyboard got so many special buttons and other electonic stuff in it so I just try clean it with a rag when it really needs a cleaning...

Some people take it apart and put the keyboard part in the dishwasher. Now that's lazy.

I'm the only person who touches mine, so I think that cuts risks down(?).
I also turn it upside down and shake it out and wipe off my desk before I vacuum. Then scrub the hell out of the palmrest area especially with a damp cloth. Then the key tops. If thats not good enough, well then poopiedoodles.
