I will interject one last thing before heading off to celebrate the new year and into my self imposed exile from threads like this one.

Is it possible that Obama is not bowing to these birthers demands simply because he doesn't want to cave to a fringe group? Look at someone like Palin. She opened up a can of worm for herself in Alaska and ended up racking up half a million in legal debts plus she burned through about 600K in tax payer money to help fulfill requests for information submitted by groups that hated her. They found a way in and put her under siege for information. She claimed that the constant onslaught of this was one of the reasons she resigned.

Now, you can't know for sure how accurate that is, but I think it has some merit.

You can look at it that way or you can look at it like every thing you do is stored in a database. your phone conversations, your online doings, your financial records, EVERYTHING but you can't even know about your Presidents school or birth records?

As far as the "Birther Movement" there's something up with this whole deal on both sides but I have yet to put my finger on it. I'm leaning towards all of the things I mentioned coming out into the open all the while they serve up the next scheme which is Health care and Carbon taxes. That way they let everyone know they have been had and say "Now you can trust us. We really do care about your health and the environment so let us tax your very existence rather than borrow against your future."

The Federal Reserve is in it's last days and the income tax won't be far behind that since they are both tied together.

Who do I support? Ron Paul is about the only person I could see myself supporting at this time but he likely isn't going to run again. You don't find this stuff in your high school or college history school books. Where you find it is reading the Acts, statutes, treaties, etc and connecting them all together. While I agree that the birthers are pretty much out there as a group, I still think that they raised a valid question, it looks like there is a possible lie involved here, everything that has been accepted as his birth cert are copies and for some reason I can't trust any government official. I know that Obama will do what ever he can to stay out of court just like clinton did, did the Clintons ever give up those records they were suppose too?
The tea baggers have a valid point and a big following, if they get bigger, they will be there own political group, they have regular meetings where I live. Mostly conservative veiws, but for the most point, they want some responsible government. Obama will probably get a second term because the GOP has Palin, although she has a lot of people on her side right now, she's a favorite target of the press, which is sad that the press try so hard to swing our votes.
I've registered myself as a independent with moderate veiws, I believe that the government has gotten too big , Has it got to the point the government needs extra taxes on sun tanning salons? That they are going to tell us what we can drink by taxing Coca-Cola ? That sounds like the reason we claimed independance from England.

She opened up a can of worm for herself in Alaska and ended up racking up half a million in legal debts plus she burned through about 600K in tax payer money to help fulfill requests for information submitted by groups that hated her. They found a way in and put her under siege for information. She claimed that the constant onslaught of this was one of the reasons she resigned. Now, you can't know for sure how accurate that is, but I think it has some merit. As soon as he acknowledges this group and bows to their demands then another group will step forward and another and another and he ends up stuck in a constant cycle of defending himself to fringe groups. There are people who say they have seen and verified his long form birth certificate. That is all he is going to say. Maybe he isn't hiding something. Maybe this is the truth. He knows if he caves to them then they will want him to prove that his dad wasn't a terrorist or that his brother isn't a drug dealer or . . . or . . . or . So he just ignores them. The entire birther movement is simply the republican party trying to hold onto the base of their party. They have lost their connection with many of the evangelicals so now they are trying to indirectly align themselves with the birthers and tea party members in an effort to maintain a grip on the angry redneck vote.
