If not, you should, just to tell her you love her and appreciate all she's done for you. You never know when someone may be on their last day and you may miss that chance to tell her.

I lost my mother on Tuesday and spent the weekend at the funeral home, I can only wish that I called her a little more often and made SURE she knew just how much she meant to me.

Call her now, and let her know, as fucked as it is, it will make me feel better and may be your only chance.

My mother had a genetic heart condition she just found out about, back 14-16 months ago, it's also what took her at a young age of 57.

She did know, I was never shy to tell her, it kills me that her youngest grandchildren will not remember her and all she did for us (her family).

I was supposed to call her back on Tuesday at supper time (I cut off our call Monday cause I was working). Before I could call I got the call saying she had passed. Not sure if I'll ever let myself off the hook for it, but I guess time cures all wounds.

So I'll say it again, give your mothers a call, even if it's just to chat.

Definately do that.Both of my parents died within 3 years of each other and I really didn't realize how important they were to me till they were gone,and nonone can replace them.
My baby boy is named after my father and he didn't really get to spend time with him...So I make sure i tell him stories about Grandad and that kind of helps me.

d'uh, my mom just recently had several surgeries ... skin cancer

shit keeps comming back and seems to slowly eat mom up ... she is 81yo now and totally clear of mind ... but, she keeps saying "lemme quit" ... it breaks my heart to hear her say that

Over the last few years my relationship with my mother has strengthened to the point that we talk on the phone almost every day, and even though I am on the road almost year round for my expedite business when I am home I live on the same street as her. This is after a lifetime of talking maybe once a month and a really difficult relationship when I was a teenager. I am truly thankful that we are able to have this type of relationship now. I am very sorry for your loss...

So sorry for your loss. You were lucky to have her as long as you did and I'm sure she knew that you loved her. I lost my mom at 21, when I was too young and stupid to realize how important she was in my life. I'd give anything on earth to be able to spend just 5 minutes with her now, to tell her how much she meant to me and how my life was never the same once she wasn't in it any longer. The day she died, my childhood ended, because no one has ever taken care of me or been there for me like she always was. But I think that mothers know and I can only hope that she saw past my arrogance and selfishness and knew how much she meant to me. RIP.

I lost my mom at the age of 57 too - a couple of years ago. It's way too young, but losing your mom is hard whatever age they are.
I wasn't there when my mom passed because I was working away. I would have been there the next day and it still cuts me up to think of that now.

I had a similar experience losing my Mom at a young age.

Trust me, your thoughts expressed here, prove that you were a good son, and your Mother knows that you loved her in life, and you love her still.

I am an atheist, but I pray for my Mother everyday, because she was a Christian, and I loved her so much...
