Ukraine stepped up it's response, when Russian separatist attacked the airport in Donetsk with a few hundred armed thugs. The same armed thugs that wouldn't allow anyone in Donetsk to vote in the election. Ukraine govt responded by sending in attack helicopters and fighter jets killing more than 100 of the Russian separatists. Moscow has in turn sent 9k of the 40k troops sitting on the boarder home and more are packing up to go back to their bases.

Looks pretty clear case of Putin caving to the international pressure leaving the separatists hung out to dry and now Kiev will be free to root out those remaining. Russia was successful at grabbing a bit of land, but has managed to further isolate it's self from the rest of the world and created a new enemy on their on their boarder. Well done..

Well, by international law they fit the bill for a armed resistance or rebels. They wear uniforms and have a command structure. While yes I think they are just Russian thugs whom were put up to the task by Moscow, we can't just call everyone a terrorist because it gives govt's too much power. If you just call anyone a terrorist then next thing you know anyone that speaks out or protests will be a terrorists.

Like it or not they fit the bill for insurgents, as they were attacking govt troops for the most part and not civilians. It was a classic armed rebellion which happened to be funded by Russia.

The difference between "terrorists" and "separatists" depends on which side you are on.

In this case I believe they are in fact separatists - they are trying to get a portion of the country to separate from Ukraine. Terrorists is when they attack the civilian population.

Taking over airport is one thing. Blowing up airport is another thing.

That's called separatists and not terrorists.

Putin can only send weapons and men for now. But he have another 40,000 troops on boarder ready to go if something bad will happen. Lets say if Ukraine forces will try to bomb the city or worse case. That's when real Russian troops will invade.

Ukraine all west forces trying to push hard East. They know if they don't they will loose battle and they will have to enter EU and be protected by NATO.

It doesn't matter if they take it over by force or blow it up. If it were a Russian airport Putin would send in troops and kill them all and arrest any supporters they found. Putin wouldn't play nice with them, he would act with force to discourage more take overs.

So why do you think it should different in Ukraine? Why shouldn't their govt go in and take them out? No govt in the world that has a capable military would stand by and let this happen.

Ukraine is different then Russia first of all. It's who control govt. They are orders from the top. If they say kill them all. Forces will do it. If they will refuse, its either go to jail for 6 years or chances of being killed by it's own forces for refusing order. You pretty have no choices.
