AM I Bad for wanting to beat my daughters boyfriend up ??
I came very close to beating my daughters boyfriend up last night but he ran off. I am not a violent person but when he puts his hands around my daughters neck and threatens to strangle her I did become very pissed.
My misses was yelling at me to leave him alone when I kicked off. Now Im in her bad books for chasing my daughters boyfriend away, and my daughter is not very happy with me either..but what else am I supposed to do. Im kinda scared now that he has done it once he will do it again. The guy is 21 years old and I know that they do have arguments from time to time but this went way to far. Was I wrong for chasing him away ??? In my mind any father would have done the same thing but my misses thinks I should have called the police |

You were not wrong... and the women are just being women and thinking irrationally...
Probably better that you didnt end up harming him though. If it does ever happen again then do like others are saying and call the police and have them file a report if not take him to jail. hands on neck is far worse than a punch to the face. there is a life line there and if thats what he goes to over an argument, then imagine true life tribulations coming about... she will end up dead... at the very least, have a stern talk with him ... and i mean stern, as in scaring the every living shit out of him... the butcher knife thing sounds about right...

No you did completely right, for the next time, print out some images of the rack trap from saw ( http://saw.ugo.com/images/traps/the-rack.jpg ) and put them in a folder with "building plans 'wifebeater-trap'" on them and place the folder somewhere he'll see it :D

I would say your daughter and wife over reacted. Putting your hands round a womans neck isnt messing around. No man should EVER lay a finger on a woman no matter the situation. I had a situation one time when 3 women were beating on some girl I knew, I had to hold them back and protect the girl I knew while the women kept hitting out at me coz I was trying to stop it. I didnt lay one finger on them, I took the hits till more people came to help out. It lasted over 2 minutes with them trying to get to her and slapping me and kicking me. I never even thought about hitting them, just protected my face and balls lol.
You need to have a strong talk with your daugher, find out if this has happened before and if it has he deserves a good ass kicking out of sight of any witnesses. |

I took a course with my EX ... she was a totally abusive person .. verbal and physical .. there is no way he is gonna see the light so to speak .. hands on a woman is a no-no .. lots of us have come close .. or crossed that line .. bottom line is it is wrong .. and it happening with in your family, you are the one that has to deal with it .. she won't .. she probably is attracted to that type mentality for what ever reason ... it is going to get worse before it gets better .. I am speaking from experience

Having gone through a similiar situation lately with our youngest daughter, I'd say you did the right thing - hell, I would've taken it farther. Hands around your daughter's throat indicates anger management issues and is just the start of further potential abuse.
I don't put up with anyone who lays a hand on a woman - no matter the circumstances. No excuses or second chances. Fortunately in my situation, my daughters BF didn't physically abuse her...but smacked a wall with his fist next to her head. That was enough for me. I told him if he layed a single hand on her in the future - he'd be hospitalized and taking his meals intravenously. Spare the consequences. Family is family and should be protected at all cost. End of story. |

If he tried to do this with you there, what do you think happens when you ARE NOT there to see it.
I would have a serious conversation with him outlining how to show respect to the mother of his child, his in-laws, his child and the home that is yours. If that respect is a problem for him to show, then it will only get worse over the years and your daughter can find herself the victim of a lot worse than what's happening now. It needs to stop now. You and HER need to take action. |

WOW!! Me and my girlfriend have a 18 month old daughter. It can be tough, but i never ever put hands on my girl or ever yelled at her. My daughter will grow up watching how i treat her mother and think that is how a man is sopose to treat a woman.
