the worst fallout will be in the next couple weeks if people can't pay for hosting and domains, so those companies will hurt, people buying less services - designs, traffic, writers -by the time people get checks it will be too late for many and they will move on. if people can't get epass again by the second half of the month there will be a big hole in an already hurting biz. and that's no joke. even if you are not affected immediately, a whole shit load of commerce is going to leave.

I think by far this is one of the smartest things you have ever said... Ever..

Very well said!

I accept a whole deal of payment types as a convenience to my clients, but 95% preferred epass because they get paid from sponsors via epass.

Even though I accept PP, WMZ, Payoneer, Money Bookers, Major Credit Cards and Visa/Mastercard Debit biz is going to be hurting, just like for many other service providers since our clients can't pay due to their money being tied up/frozen.

yup. and can adult at this point take a large chunk of their commerce evaporating for a month? maybe, and although guys like shap can laugh, all of this will eventually travel up the chain and shake shit up.

the point i'm trying to make is that it sucks that money is locked, but the bigger issue is this month when tons of adult biz grinds to a halt if people can't receive money and pay. shit will get fucked up.

Profits of Doom 09-05-2010 08:05 AM

Can you still transfer money to another Epass account if your money is tied up on your Virtual Visa card? I'm sure it has been answered here but I can't find it...

Agent 488 09-05-2010 08:07 AM

all money in virtual visa is frozen, so i think just from the wallet.

I think they will have to send new ones for free, although somehow I think it won't be visa cards anymore, maybe MasterCard which is not great cause I used My virtual Visa to get money from Paypal and you can't do that with MasterCard...

Davy 09-05-2010 08:23 AM

The shady part is: we are not being told why VISA froze the accounts.
This question has not been asked often enough in this thread.

Forkbeard 09-05-2010 09:33 AM

I am getting a little tired of being told that my money is "safe". Money that I cannot access, money that nobody knows whether or when I will ever be able to get, is not "safe and secure".

In response to the initial message from Epassporte before I ever saw this thread, I sent (without much hope, having had such bad luck with general Epassporte support before) a message center inquiry asking how I could access the funds locked on my Virtual Visa. This is what they told me:
Quote:

In regards to your concern, please be informed that your funds are
available in your Visa Virtual Card (Account). As per the new update
received from our Account Verification Department, you will be unable to
use the funds which are available in your Visa Virtual Card.

Our Account Verification Department is working to resolve the issue. Only
once the issue is resolved, you will be able to use the funds which are
available in your Visa Virtual Card. The funds are safe and secure.
Thank you so much Swaroop S. for precisely nothing. I don't think 'safe and secure' means the same thing your dialect of English as it does in mine.

We're all pretty much in the same boat here dude.

2 cents. 2 brain cells.

You are an absolute, complete, daft idiot. So now Mr. Mallick has Chinese children pumping out jeans and t-shirts for his GAP franchise? What the fuck are you saying?

Everyone exploits someone else. The post I quoted implicitly states that Mr. Mallick and Epass donate money to children's charities to deflect criticism from their sexual exploitation of children.

How fucking stupid are you? Really? You are THAT fucking stupid.

I will not reply anymore, because this thread is not only ridiculous (and probably libelous), the accusations contained herein are beyond insanity.

I know neither Michael Olsen nor Christopher Mallick on a personal level. The accusations I'm reading in this thread are making me physically sick.

I'm walking away.

Calm down dude. It will all work itself out. Take another walk with your puppy (and post some pics - awww). :)

People react emotionally (understandably) when their entire financial house comes crashing down. WHERE'S MY FUCKING MONEY??? So the only thing to do is wait. What else can be done? Go legal? How? Where?

I feel bad for everyone affected, and I've been through situations where my money was cut-off with no notice. Very frightening. I hope this all works out for everyone, I really do.

Have hou have ever been to the Berlin Film Festival ???? lol ..

Do you think Middle Men could with the " Lion d'Or " ?

I was there, invited all expenses paid , by the Festival. That year I bought the rights for Canada to an obscure film called " The Vanishing " , directed by Georgez Sluizer ( shot in Deutch & French ) . That movies was a hit for me , and was later redone in the USA with a happy ending to please american viewers .

Middle Men is no where near that :

The film IS a flop, has no legs , and will remain a flop . At one point, some people doing a documentary on the porn business will include a small excerpt and credit the movie .... that is the best future it has ...

although I do not necessarily consider this to be shady, but I am very curious as to what exactly happened to cause all this

not for this. they recommended it so that if your card gets stolen they would not be able to use your money (because it all or most of it were in the wallet)

This functionality is temporarily unavailable.
We apologize for the inconvenience and we are working to resolve this matter immediately.

One question for Michael... if epass got that warning two days before it all happened why epass didn't make some statement and inform users to withdraw all money they can because there gonna be some problems (maybe)

superdio 09-05-2010 12:40 PM

Please stop speculating nonsense. Its time to sit and wait for the resolution next week. Meanwhile it would be great if most sponsors start working in an alternative backup payment method to Epassporte just if this happens again. Looks like OKPAY is a nice option with debit Mastercard and P2P transfers.

Cum&Spam 09-05-2010 12:41 PM

hahahaha ya, institutions warning us that problems are coming so we take our money and they go all happy to bankruptcy!

Hopefully it's possible to release them....

I think that when this all calms down we will all be supplying ID, utility bills/banking and it will all need to match and the funds should, hopefully, be released after that but doubt it will be quick.

I hope what you learned that the money is on the visa cards is read by the Visa geniuses, banking gurus and the rest who seem to want to inflame a truly bad situation into something far worse.

Is this really gonna be resolved? Not like globill or ibill or the buncha others who got shut down in the past right?

Good lord I haven't been using epass very actively so not too much to lose this time.

I have no dog in this fight but I was making a point. Since when are there levels of child exploitation? You either exploit them or you don't. The only difference is, are you educated enough to at least know you are exploiting them or do you accept the fact that it is a necessary evil for all the things we consume. That's all it boils down to.

TzarJorge 09-05-2010 01:49 PM

Even tho 50 bucks for a wire transfer is not much, why users should pay for it, when they already paid for their visa card?
Epassporte should cover the wire transfer cost, or at least give it at the actual cost, which is not $50.

Visa is not owner of our money but of their cards, does not make any sense we can't get our money by transfer or crediting our personal cards.

Epassporte is dead, even if they recover their visa program or get another, i just can't trust them anymore.

I love ccbill so much, on time, everytime, no excuses, no problems just solutions.

rednet 09-05-2010 01:58 PM

i think if epass will solve problems and make money available then most people will contunie using it as a company passed a stress test
