I did have some hope before today's statement was released...

If that wasn't bad enough, I just got yet another payment to my Epass account despite the fact that I've updated my payment type to check a few days ago for that sponsor...

Ron Bennett 09-09-2010 04:22 PM

Below is a copy of a post in the other Epassporte thread - but posting here too, since this the "Epassporte Official Statement" thread that many are still following.

Your post above is the best plausible explanation I've read so far regarding ACH going out, but not most, if any, wires.

Furthermore, much of the virtual visa and wallet funds appear to be commingled together - so why the delay in releasing virtual visa money? ... unless, perhaps, the account(s) it's in is frozen and/or contains insufficient funds to cover all user balances.

agree that looks like funds are frozen

i sent my wire request on friday and still nothing.. and nobody can really explain why.

Ok, so I was correct, AT LEAST one person did get a payout via their credit card. I'm glad to know I did not misinform anyone :)

How did management manage to raise tens of millions of US dollars to spend on a hobby such as filmmaking?

At least we know how David Ellison got the money.

Also now happy ending for Mr. Mallick - or I can't see him live happy ever after. To many people would like to get a hold on him. I think the FBI will get to him first and that might be the best ending for him. Mr. Mallick is only buying time - he knows the money is gone for the movie "Middle Men" and that is stealing but as long people just sitting tapping the keyboard and not telling the FBI about this he is a free man. He is just buying time.

he got a whole week free - when he should be behind bars. Someone should post a report for FBI. So if he run he can get on the MOST WANTED list.

The money have been used for the movie!
The movie was 20.000.000 $
Movie income 750.000 $

So we're talking $35 million spent and a less than million dollar return... :Oh crap

maybe cm didnt use account holder's cash to finance his ego.. Pretty big coincidence movie flops and the very next month no one can access their money. But the club of the brotastic still sucking on mr malick's cock is amusing to say the least. Our money is gone.... deal with it and move on.

Look at me and tell me what you see
I am not what you think I am
Too weird to live, too rare to die
Haloed in the headlights of death
Is this Hell disguised as heaven?
Is this death masquerading as life?
So much is said, so little shown
I see no reason, I feel no end

This is not a happy ending
This is not a last goodbye
Open your eyes and stop pretending
This is not the perfect end

This is not a new beginning
This is not a last farewell
Open your eyes and stop pretending
This is not the perfect end

Stitched up like a ragged doll
Wrapped around your naked soul
I am what you know as temptation
I am the ancient deception

I wish I could leave this world behind
I wish I had the will to end it all
But I shall paint my nightmares
And things will never be the same again

This is not a happy ending
This is not a last goodbye
Open your eyes and stop pretending
This is not the perfect end

This is not a new beginning
This is not a last farewell
Open your eyes and stop pretending
This is not the perfect end

Exactly. I understand the frustrations but all this wild speculation is doing is digging a deeper hole.

You can put a fire out a lot quicker if people are not constantly throwing more oil on it.

I am hoping too... but you need to look rationally at the situation. We have all been swindled... you for 6g's, me for $500 and countless others. Positive thinking and hope will not rectify what has happened nor get our money back.

I am really curious where CM is at this point. Is he at the office or is he in Venezuela?
I would like to know

Anybody answered that question? People that requested International Wire on Friday of last week... were the FIRST IN LINE. There is no 'delay' excuse due to overload for them. Same for people who filled form for wire on Saturday or Sunday.

I'm not even sure the Wallet Money is available now. I told a few sponsors to continue to pay us via Epassporte because I was told Wallet WIRE would still work fine. This does not look good at all if no wire were received since Tuesday of this week.

There was nothing new in that 'official statement'.

Zorgman 09-10-2010 02:28 AM

Why, whats the problem? If he has done nothing illegal he will be fine and will be able to carry on sorting this shit out.

It is the alternative scenario that you want to be freaking out about.

It's not about whether that individual has done something illegal, it's about if they autorities start to look at tstuff and find a load of 'interesting' transactions and accounts then they are likely to cause even more shit for everyone involved.

Subject: ePassporte Message from Chris Mallick

We at ePassporte are as distressed as you, our valued cardholders, over an action that we did not see coming and as of today we still have received no good basis for it.

First, be assured that your funds are fully safe and protected. You are owed that and it will be fulfilled. The funds are secure.

Second, ePassporte is working with the St. Kitts bank to work out how all payments will be made and when. The details are complicated, because there are funds in motion and where and when they settle requires us to all be careful that we fully and properly account for all those funds and their rightful owner. This issue stems from our processing and reporting ability through the Visa system and their processor.

Third, ePassporte's most important asset has always been our account holder's. We are not going to undermine that asset by treating cardholders in any manner other than the best we can.

Most of us have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with banks and card associations that simply "cut us off" and did not pay us. Those actions were limited to card acquiring (merchant accounts), not card issuing, which is what we do. We can all take some comfort in the fact that this situation is not anything like the acquiring side of the business.

We all fully understand that communication to our cardholders is critical. However, it does not help any of us if we are constantly updating you on the basis of the calls that take place almost hourly. It seems to us that giving you facts, based on agreements we are working on is the best form of communication. This is what we will be doing. When we know something, that is a fact, we will report it, quickly. Our staff is all working diligently to resolve these issues and the many moving and complicated parts of getting the funds returned. Therefore, please do not mistake our silence as "hiding", "avoiding" or "stringing you along". We too have funds that are stuck in the system, as well as massive costs of operation without any income.

Rest assured that when we know, you will know and you will all be satisfied with the results. Again, your money is safe.

For those of you that have been in the industry for many years, I hope you will recall that I have a very strong track record of fighting for the rights of webmasters, program sponsors, billing companies, merchants and the industry; that dedication continues.

Thanks you for your understanding in this difficult time and for your support over the last 8 years of our operations.

Chris Mallick
For ePassporte

I see one really bad thing in this... All of you are step by step believing that the money is gone so it's easier for epassporte to do that...

Hence Epass should have/should be releasing statements with more than bullshit to tell us, so that they can calm the issue. When you say NOTHING for a week besides "its complicated", people start to think the worse, etc. Classic crisis management situation, managed like shit. :disgust

I wasn't worried about epass sorting things and getting us our money, but with all the panic generated at this level, everyone will jack their cash outta there first chance, which will destroy epass = bankruptcy = pennies on the dollar. All of this because they just left us out here to speculate with no facts whatsoever, and lots of dodging.

Yeah, panicking is not helpful right now. It won't help us get our money back. I'm glad I withdrew most of my funds from Epassporte when I heard that there were some suspicious lines in the small prints ~3 years ago. So I only had about $1,900 left in my account as of September 2nd. Still a lot of money though (at least for me).

MadTorpedo 09-10-2010 05:01 AM

Don't panic!

It only makes things worse, and usually MUCH worse! Never helps.

How stupid is that to flood support, and ring all the bells trying to get something that stuck in your VISA, suppose you get that money killing Epassporte along the way, then what next?

Many of us depend on Epassporte, of course there are ways to go without it, but it make things much easier.

Someone already mentioned it and I concur: I would be even ok with something like "help keep epassporte in business" Wallet, with half of the money that currently in my account frozen in this wallet there for a while, but with Epassporte alive and VISAs working!

Epassporte served us so well all this years, why tearing it now?

It is an opportunity for us to show some collective consciousness, let's not panic, behave rationally and be willing to help keep Epassporte in business.

mikesinner 09-10-2010 05:25 AM

It's Friday, if this isn't solved by the end of the business day I'm going to start getting worried.
